We can hold hands, El.

I know that one of my fillings needs "topping up", so I'm not looking forward to that.

Can I join in please?  We are all being tortured by dentists I like it when they say come back in 6 months.

That 6 months seems to fly past, doesn't it?

Hold my hand Squiggle, we can do this.

I've found some costumes for us.

There are a lot like that, Velvet.

The one I go to now is pretty good and doesn't seem to overcharge or do work that isn't needed.

I have a suspicion about the tooth that she wants to put a crown on.  The filling feels fine to me, she says it is a long term temporary   I get the feeling that the surgery might be pushing some private work.  She has taken an X ray to see if the filling is leaking, I reckon I am going to say I want to leave it until the next check up.

What gets me Yogi is I haven't had the slightest niggle with a tooth.  But when I sat in the chair she picked up a sharp instrument and started picking at that upper tooth.  How are you supposed to know whether it really was breaking up around the edges of the filling or not?  I can still remember when practically all dentists were NHS and I think there is a certain amount of salesmanship nowadays compared with then.

Most definitely.

Mine does have posters about teeth whitening and new teeth straightening braces for adults, but he never tries to push anything. I am one of those (contrary) people who won't be pushed into things - the more they push, the more determined I am not to fall for their sales chat.

Mr Yogi has bought himself another iphone - don't ask me which one as I don't have a clue.

Anyway, this means he has given me his old one, so at last I have a smart phone instead of my old thick one. I always get everyone else's reject phones.

He's synching stuff and deleting his rubbishy music for me atm, then I'll be good to go..........possibly.................maybe...........hopefully.

Dentists squiggle, I think that if you felt that way, then trust your instincts and cancel the appointment! When I first moved to the north east I registered at a private practise who told me I needed EIGHT fillings! I knew I needed at least 2, but 8 shocked me, and at ÂĢ500, I decided to get a second opinion.. My current NHS dentist told me I needed 3 fillings (1 new one, 2 repairs) and I have never had any trouble with my teeth since.. At a previous dentist some years ago, I had been alone a corner of the waiting area for some time when 2 members of staff entered the reception area and I overheard a dental nurse bragging about how the dentist had just convinced an old lady to have a more expensive procedure than the cheaper one that would have been alright for her, because of the whopping great commission he would then receive... I walked straight out without paying my ÂĢ20 bill and never ever went back! I know they're not all wanting to rip us off, but I'm very suspicious of them all these days! My current dentist runs 12 month check ups now, I LOVE it when they say "we won't need to see you for another 12 months" I hope you all have positive experiences and good check up's No snow trouble here tonight yogi, just a few flakes. The forecast has changed dramatically and it looks likes Wales is going to get the snow that we had previously been expecting.. Wherever it lands though, be safe and warm all

Good morning everyone

As expected it is snowing here and will continue to around 3 this afternoon. The forecast indicates that it's been downgraded to light snow in Gloucester itself so we may get a couple of inches rather than the 5 inches. Gloucestershire as a whole will be very snowy though not like what's happening in South Wales. Temperatures are forecast to remain cold for many days.

Good morning everyone. It is freezing cold up here, but no sign of snow. I hope it doesn't get too bad where you are. Summer, that dentist sounds a right rogue, so I don't blame you for walking out. The fact that they didn't contact you for the ÂĢ20 suggests they may have realised you overheard their conversation Have a good day and keep warm
Yogi19

It seems to have stopped snowing here. I estimate that 3 inches has fallen during the day where I live. Temperature remains at so close to zero that the snow will stay, and there is more snow forecast in the coming days.

You may remember the story of the man who drove up Snowdon a couple of times. The man lives in Cheltenham and this is in the local paper today:

A man who twice drove up the highest mountain in England and Wales in a 4x4 has been jailed.

Craig Williams, 40, of Bridgend Road, The Reddings, Cheltenham, was convicted by a Caernarfon Crown Court jury of two offences of dangerous driving on 3,560ft Snowdon in September 2011.

After the verdicts it was revealed to the jury that Williams had failed to answer bail for the start of the trial and that a man resembling him had been seen on CCTV in the early hours of Thursday placing a message on the window of the court stating: "Can't catch me, try to catch me if you can."

Prosecutor Matthew Curtis said on Wednesday morning the defendant sent an email to his solicitors with a letter to the judge.

Mr Curtis told Judge Merfyn Hughes QC: "The letter addressed to you indicated that the defendant was going to be at the summit of Mount Snowdon as the verdicts were going to be returned."

There was a suicide note in the form of a long poem.

Mr Curtis said police were sceptical of the suggestion of a suicide attempt but couldn't ignore it and a search was started.

A member of the Llanberis mountain rescue team ascended to the summit of Snowdon.

"There was packed snow and ice in areas," counsel said.

The North Wales police helicopter also flew from its Rhuddlan base to Snowdon and searched the railway line, footpaths and ridges. The cost for 50 minutes was ÂĢ1,767. On Thursday morning Williams was found sleeping in a vehicle in Snowdonia.

The court heard that the bill for repairs to the Snowdon mountain railway and recovery of the vehicle following his two ascents in a 4x4 amounted to thousands of pounds.

Williams was jailed for six months for the first count of dangerous driving on September 3, 2011 and ten months for the second offence later that month. He admitted failing to answer to bail and was jailed for six months.

But the sentences were ordered to be served consecutively making a total jail term of 22 months. He was also banned from driving for three years and until he takes an extended driving test.

You won't get much sympathy from me for this man.

No sympathy from me either, El.

Totally agree, and thank goodness the jail terms were consecutive it used to drive my hubby mad when jail sentences were handed out which were concurrent so they really only served one sentence.

Most of the snow has gone, I don't think we had as much as you EL.

That's good, Squiggle and I hope it stays away for you.

What a tool, people like that shouldn't be allowed to drive! I bet his insurance will be expensive in future Barely a snow flake here yogi, we had a few little spells, but it didn't settle. There's a lot of icicles now though, I'm trying to avoid walking under any whilst trying to watch the ground for icy patches at the same time! Has everyone had a nice day? We were really quiet at work, I think it was just too cold
~Sparkling Summer~

My mother told me of the winter many many years ago when there was a huge amount of snow. Where she was working at the time the army were called in to dig a passageway through the snow so that people could walk to where they needed to get to and the snow was at least 5 foot deep. Not as much as that Canadian photo though.
