Isnt this just lovely for Easter/ Gd,s 5th birthday. Yes i know a bit early.. but.. Off to check out the site!
I think the new series of Call the Midwife which starts on Sunday 20th is being shown at 8pm (not sure what happens to Antiques Roadshow, may move to 7pm). That should mean that it should be possible to watch CTM followed by Mr Selfridge without the two clashing.
Thanks El, maybe Scotland will be different, i shall check x
Many Happy Returns to your son, Skylark. I bought him a wee gift.
And I got a cake for Kia.

Thanks El. I'll probably end up recording both of them.
Aww thanks Yogi, he will wear that with pride at Hampden Park
Kia says thanks too
Son and girlfriend out for the evening, she has the highest heels on, so on standby for ankle break! Hope not, and not sure why she has to wear them, maybe the height thing is coming into it..we shall see..

Most of the young girls are wearing heels like stilts atm, and half of them can't walk in them. Fingers crossed she doesn't come a cropper.
My youngest son inherited his lack of height gene from my side of the family and he liked it when the girls were all wearing little ballet pumps.
Wow
Hibbees tops are where it's at

They'll cope, they come from good stock.

Indeed
My mum bought me one of those slanket things (a cross between a dressing gown and a blanket) - no idea why!. I'm thinking of trying it out while I'm watching CBB. Just hope the phone doesn't ring, or I'll break a leg, trying to answer it.
I bought my daughter one, she is always cold . Cant remember the name now, but the same thing. Dont get tangled up in it !
Signing out, goodnight, sleep well all

I'll try not to!
Goodnight Skylark, sweet dreams.
Slanket is lovely and soft but I wouldn't want to have to stand up in it.
After that interesting episode of CBB, I'm toddling off to bed.
Goodnight Summer, sleep well.
Good morning everyone
Cold, sunny and frosty here. Snow tonight, but later on Monday it's more likely to be rain. Tuesday onwards forecast to be very cold and could well be like that for several weeks.
I saw The Band Wagon (1953) again last night. One of Fred Astaire's best films. It contains one of my favourite numbers - Triplets, which always makes me smile:
Summer, I don't know how they filmed Triplets. IMBD says that they were filmed whilst on their knees and Nanette Fabray had to take pain killers as a result. It is a rather odd number and is not typical of the film as a whole but I like it because of its oddity.
Good morning everyone, I remember watching that film and they definitely did the triplets thing on their knees, it was amusing but odd.
Those slankets do look cosy but as you say can be difficult if you have to leap up suddenly. Onesies are cosy too but you would feel daft wearing them I think. To people of my age they definitely look like giant babygro's but the young ones seem to love them. The girls do look lovely in their high heels like colts but they have got to be painful for extended wear. I know from some books that I read that lots of girls have shoes which are purely from going from car to bar.
Will you have a go at the clay pigeon shooting yourself Summer?
Summer, I hope you and Mr Summer enjoyed the clay pigeon shooting today.
Good afternoon everyone. It's been snowing on and off all day. So far, it hasn't really settled, so no disruptions or inconvenience.
I remember that clip of "the triplets", El. One thing I noticed on watching it again, was that Nanette was lifting her "feet" much higher than the two men, so perhaps that's why her knees ached so much with the impact.
Summer, enjoy your day and I hope your weather is better than mine.
For anyone who missed it the series on Chatsworth is starting on BBC1 at 3.25 this afternoon, hope everyone sees this in time.
Well done on the clay pigeon shooting Summer

She's the forum Annie Oakley by the sounds of it
Annie was an American exhibition shooter, Summer.
Well done on your shooting today - and no animals were killed in the process.
Nanette Fabray appeared on the Sid Caesar show after The Band Wagon.
I found a couple of muscial sketches of them which are mildly amusing.
The first is sort of based on the opera Pagliacci.
It's regarded as a classic but I prefer the second one:
No I'm not watching it, I've been on the phone and catching up with last nights CBB
