Funny how life moves us around. Where was mr squiggle from?

We both grew up in Loughton Summer, but we didn't know each other, he was from one end and I was from the other.  We met because my brother went to school with him and they became friends, lucky for me

When we were married we moved to Gants Hill which as you may know is not that far from Manor Park.  It certainly is a small world.

Yo! I'm a Heartbeat aficianodo and couldn't help but notice........

In winter the train actually runs  from Grosmont to Pickering, and in summer all the way from Whitby to Pickering. It's normally steam hauled  all year except when there is a danger of track side fires, not likely this year.

We became very much Heartbeat groupies when the last series was being filmed as all our friends wanted to go there when they visited us, even the Germans. We saw quite a lot of filming including night shots in Whitby. Happy days - sadly missed.

I also remember being hauled by steam as a child, the last occasion being the north-east coastal route. However The Fatherland gives lots of opportunities, particularly the Baltic sea based Mollie bahn, and the Harz mountain railway.

My hubby spent his early childhood in Buckhurst Hill (his family were evacuated there during the war into a house where the people had fled to safer shores) and we all spent hours of our childhood in Epping Forest, it was our playground.

I have been enjoying the repeats of Heartbeat, showing on ITV3 in the afternoons.

My mum & her fella went on that Whitby to Pickering train ride last year, he'd always wanted to do it and my mum was like "we'll let's go then!" They had a great time Yogi, beamish museum is fab, any time of year, I should get my butt over there far more often than once a year, it's not a difficult place to get to! Having said that, I hear Bowes museum is great too and I've not been there yet. I believe there's a mechanical swan Squiggle a very small world indeed! I didn't know gants hill was close to manor park, my g'ma would have been growing up there in the late 1920's, early 1930's and unfortunately when she returned to see relatives, found much of it bombed to rubble during the war. I'm off to the land of dreams now, sweetest of dreams to you all

It's wonderful to have the car back - and son had put lots of petrol in for me, as a thank you.

My cupboards are fully stocked again. Actually, they might be over full, as when I opened the door of one cupboard, a jar of Cranberry Jelly fell out and smashed a plate. The plate had a slice of Angel Cake waiting for me, and it got ruined. I cleared up the mess and cut myself another slice of Angel Cake - and it slid off the plate as I walked to the livingroom. Someone is trying to tell me I eat too much cake!

I've just seen the new Coca Cola advert on television which is delightful so I thought I would find it on Youtube and post it here.

While I was watching it on Youtube I noticed right at the end that there was a link to a similar short film produced by Ridley Scott (I suspect it's his production company which has done both the advert and the short film).

So here's the short film.

I think you will like it - a lot.

You may have heard that the Government is looking at changing the State Pension so that people reaching the State Pension retirement age as from a date yet unannounced would get ÂĢ142 a week regardless of their NI contributions. Anyone reaching the State Pension retirement age before that date would stay on the present basis, currently (depending on NI contributions) a maximum of a basic ÂĢ107-45 plus a possible additional state pension.

The original intention was to bring this in in 2016/17 but David Cameron decided to have some more consultations so that it won't come in until 2017 (I'm guessing from 6 April 2017).

As a direct result of this delay it looks as if I will lose out on ÂĢ34-55 a week as I reach the State Retirement age a few weeks before 6 April 2017 so I'm not pleased with this. I suspect there will be a lot of anger from those people in a similar position.
