He'll be with us for a wee while in the morning, then back by 5pm (ish).

This is the first Christmas Day he has worked in a long time, so he can't complain. He always has to work either Christmas Eve/ Day/Boxing Day, or New Year's Day.

Definitely! She gets spoilt rotten at Christmas, and gets really excited when we open her pressies for her.

I'm sure your mum will help make it a nice day for the residents of the home.

Night night again.

Good morning everyone

Very cloudy here but dry - too mild for any frost though Monday to Thursday will be very frosty. Friday looks as if it will get warmer with rain  (presumably initially snow).

Summer, I'm sorry to hear about your bunny

Call the Midwife is scheduled for Christmas Day at 7.30 to 8.45. Then on ITV Downton Abbey starts immediately afterwards with a 2 hour special.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, dry this morning I will find out how cold it is when I go out.

So sorry to hear about your bunny Summer but as Yogi says she had a long and very happy life and you did your best for her.

I just got a phone call from my friend, her sister died at 4am.  They had a very stormy relationship and her sister had fallen out with everyone, she lived in sheltered housing and was not speaking to anyone there.  But it turns out that she was full of cancer and I think she had been keeping this to herself for ages and probably worrying herself sick about it.  So, on the advice of another friend I gently raised the subject of going in to see her sister one last time, with my friend. When I was trying to gently persuade her to go I said think of happier times when you were both children, thinking that would help, and she said "she used to hit me, she used to hit me all the time"  So that didn't work too well did it?

Her husband didn't want her to go in case it upset her and her nephew who was visiting her sister advised against it because her sister had lost so much weight.  But I was worried that if she didn't go she would regret it later.  Anyway she went in yesterday and said her goodbyes.  She said her sister looked just like their Mum.  She had planned to go in again today but I know that she has peace in her heart now that she went and saw her.

Good morning everyone. Weather is cloudy and dry atm.

I slept for nine hours last night - YAY!

I think you were right to suggest your friend visit her sister, Squiggle.

It was a difficult situation but I think it would have been worse if she'd felt guilty because she hadn't gone.

I will admit to smiling at her response when you said, "think of happier times when you were children".

Retriever in a Santa hat, how cute is that?!

If we put a hat on Keira, she would do her "I don't like it" sad face.

Thanks for the timings for Call The Midwife and Downton, El.

Evening ooh I almost got a Post written out this morning when bramble decided to end my lay in by howling her head off because she needed the loo... Since then I've been non stop with various tasks, including foraging for wreath materials with BIL and his son I got a good pic of bramble & stream, will upload it later. Yogi, if you want to, email me a pic of Keira sometime, I'll pop a Santa hat on her for you Thanks all for the bunny sympathies I feel better about it today Howard didn't eat today but he has been out in the garden and running around, I'm going to cuddle him before bedtime Squiggle, your friend must have been quite shocked, and upset, she's lucky to have you as a friend, I'm sure you did a great job of comforting her El I hope your churches family with the baby are ok, it could just be that the baby has a bug, there are a lot going around..
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone. A frosty start to the day up here.

Summer, what a great pic of Stream and Bramble.

They keyed two door panels, Summer. Son is going to hold off getting it resprayed as one of his neighbours said his car has been done twice!

Four cars have been damaged in all, and it has now been reported to the police. Not that they hold out any hope of the vandals being caught.

Thanks El.

Edit; Only 16 sleeps! I need to get a move on and finish my Christmas gift shopping.

Good morning everyone, clear and bright and cold here.

Yogi what a horrible thing to have happened, vandalism like this makes me so , I hope it doesn't happen again and that your son doesn't lose his no-claims bonus or face a higher premium because of it.

It is a lovely picture of Stream and Bramble, I know I'm biased but Bramble looks so pretty.

To cheer your Monday
