He'll be with us for a wee while in the morning, then back by 5pm (ish).
This is the first Christmas Day he has worked in a long time, so he can't complain. He always has to work either Christmas Eve/ Day/Boxing Day, or New Year's Day.
I'm going off to catch up on The Killing, which I recorded earlier. It's Danish, with subtitles, so I need to concentrate.
See you tomorrow, Summer. Goodnight, sweet dreams.
Definitely! She gets spoilt rotten at Christmas, and gets really excited when we open her pressies for her.
I'm sure your mum will help make it a nice day for the residents of the home.
Night night again.
Good morning everyone
Very cloudy here but dry - too mild for any frost though Monday to Thursday will be very frosty. Friday looks as if it will get warmer with rain (presumably initially snow).
Summer, I'm sorry to hear about your bunny
Call the Midwife is scheduled for Christmas Day at 7.30 to 8.45. Then on ITV Downton Abbey starts immediately afterwards with a 2 hour special.
Good morning everyone, dry this morning I will find out how cold it is when I go out.
So sorry to hear about your bunny Summer but as Yogi says she had a long and very happy life and you did your best for her.
I just got a phone call from my friend, her sister died at 4am. They had a very stormy relationship and her sister had fallen out with everyone, she lived in sheltered housing and was not speaking to anyone there. But it turns out that she was full of cancer and I think she had been keeping this to herself for ages and probably worrying herself sick about it. So, on the advice of another friend I gently raised the subject of going in to see her sister one last time, with my friend. When I was trying to gently persuade her to go I said think of happier times when you were both children, thinking that would help, and she said "she used to hit me, she used to hit me all the time" So that didn't work too well did it?
Her husband didn't want her to go in case it upset her and her nephew who was visiting her sister advised against it because her sister had lost so much weight. But I was worried that if she didn't go she would regret it later. Anyway she went in yesterday and said her goodbyes. She said her sister looked just like their Mum. She had planned to go in again today but I know that she has peace in her heart now that she went and saw her.
My first post was very long so I will put this in a separate one
(thinking of Keira)
Good morning everyone. Weather is cloudy and dry atm.
I slept for nine hours last night - YAY!
I think you were right to suggest your friend visit her sister, Squiggle.
It was a difficult situation but I think it would have been worse if she'd felt guilty because she hadn't gone.
I will admit to smiling at her response when you said, "think of happier times when you were children".
Retriever in a Santa hat, how cute is that?!
If we put a hat on Keira, she would do her "I don't like it" sad face.
Thanks for the timings for Call The Midwife and Downton, El.
Squiggle, at least your friend was able to be reconciled with her sister even if only for a short time.
Nice Santa Retriever
Yogi, I'm glad you caught up on your sleep last night
It was baptisms at church today. There were two babies due to be baptised but only 1 baby and family turned up. No-one knows what's happened with the other family but our curate will check up to make sure everything is alright.
Summer, I will email you a pic of Keira (as soon as I find out how to do it).
Poor Howard, it must be a bit confusing for him to be on his own.
El, let's hope there was a simple reason for the family's non-attendance today - like car trouble or a mix up with dates.
Eldest son's new car was "keyed" last night outside his house. Several other cars were also damaged. Blooming vandals!
Signing out now, goodnight Summer, see you tomorrow.
Good morning everyone
Sunny frosty morning here as forecast.
Yogi, I'm sorry that your eldest son's car was keyed. Mindless vandalism.
Summer, lovely picure of Stream and Bramble
Good morning everyone. A frosty start to the day up here.
Summer, what a great pic of Stream and Bramble.
They keyed two door panels, Summer. Son is going to hold off getting it resprayed as one of his neighbours said his car has been done twice!
Four cars have been damaged in all, and it has now been reported to the police. Not that they hold out any hope of the vandals being caught.
Thanks El.
Edit; Only 16 sleeps! I need to get a move on and finish my Christmas gift shopping.
Good morning everyone, clear and bright and cold here.
Yogi what a horrible thing to have happened, vandalism like this makes me so , I hope it doesn't happen again and that your son doesn't lose his no-claims bonus or face a higher premium because of it.
It is a lovely picture of Stream and Bramble, I know I'm biased but Bramble looks so pretty.
To cheer your Monday

Hahaha, I love the dancing Santa and reindeer.
Squiggle, nice dancing Santa and reindeers
I found this 22 minute spoof of Fred & Ginger musicals. It's quite good but of course not in the same league as the originals.
Carol Burnett - Ginger Rogers
Ken Berry - Fred Astaire
Roddy McDowall - Edward Everett Horton (the closest of the impersonations)
I'm working through my hypnotherapist client's accounts and there is one slightly unusual item of expense which I need to ask her about - golf balls . I'll let you know what they are used for.

I want to know too!
Love the driving dog.
Maybe Mr Yogi should give Keira a go in his car.

That's the sort of rhyme Mr Yogi will teach any future grandchildren.
ROFL Squiggle, where did you find that wee gem?
It's by Shel Silverstein. He also wrote quite a lot of songs. This one is a very very serious song
