Good morning Very cold out apparently, and it snowed a little here too last night I'm having a nice lay in, and bramble has joined me. Mr summer let her up as he went to work She's a little bit off colour & has conjunctivitis again so I'm popping her to the vets this morning, and then I'm meeting up with SIL to do our annual trip to Harrogate. Anyone want anything from Betty's..? Yogi I'm pleased you had a good sleep and feel refreshed- where are you raring to today?
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone

Patchy cloud and sun here, no frost but forecast to be a cold night.

Summer, I hope Bramble's conjunctivitis clears up and you have a nice time with SIL in Harrogate. I must be one of the few people who stayed in Harrogate for a couple of weeks without popping in at Betty's - I was there on business rather than as a tourist.

Good morning everyone.  I'm glad you had a better night's sleep Yogi Hope you had a good catch-up with your brother Skylark Hope you are enjoying your lie-in Summer and that your day is relaxed, glad the Yoga went well too.

EL what willpower!  I could not stay away from Betty's whether I was there on business or not.  I had to laugh at your near miss with the wall bit of luck hearing the real culprits 'fess up before you had to throw yourself on your sword.

Summer ooooh yes please, you choose - drools

Just a small update on my awkward client. I rang another accountant I know who lives on the other side of the country and without disclosing any confidential details went through the problem with him. He sometimes rings me with client problems he has and it's a good idea to have someone to discuss these things with (and is advised by my institute).

He agrees with me that I have no choice but to report the problem to the council, the wording will depend as to how co-operative the client is. That means that if my client takes umbrage with me I can say that I have discussed this with a colleague who agrees that he would take the same action.

I'm off soon to see a client. Once I've seen her on the way back home I'm visiting another client who lives on the way back. Both of these clients are a lot more co-operative than the one I've been dealing with over the past couple of days. I spent the afternoon writing a long letter to her setting out the issues as these need to be in writing rather than by phone as I have advised her to discuss this with those above her.

The chances are I won't be back here today so have a great evening

El Loro

Good morning everyone. We have sleet here today.

Sounds like you had a nice time in Harrogate, Summer.

Fingers crossed you get things sorted out with the awkward client, El.

I need to start writing my Christmas cards over the next few days and get the rest of my Christmas gifts purchased. I'm going to be more organised this year.

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here and frosty. Expected to get a bit warmer with rain here later on. I know there's snow in the north but by the time it gets here it's more likely to be rain.

Summer, well done on a succesful Harrogate visit

Point of trivia: Harrogate's name derives from Har-low-Gata meaning Grey-Hill-Road.

My post arrived about an hour ago and in it was the information I had requested from  my awkward client. She obviously must have changed her attitude after our conversation. The problem was that at the end of their financial year quite a lot of money shown as banked hadn't gone on to the bank statements. I had asked for a copy of the bank statement for the following month to check that the money had gone in. She had been reluctant to send that to me saying that the money hadn't been banked until recently.  I've just seen on the bank statement that the money did go in the bank in the following month so that sorts out the problem. It's just as well I hadn't posted my letter yet as I will now change it as there are other matters.

Some clients

Enjoy the Nativity, I'm sure it will be really lovely (and knowing kids, it may be unintentionally funny as well).

Summer, I saw your pic of the food in Betty's - looks scrumptious!

Yes we could have had! Must fly, be back later xx

Good morning everyone, bitterly cold again.  We seem to be specialising in hailstones down here lately, don't know why

Enjoy the Nativity Skylark, I wish I was there with you.  I ran my friend to her granddaughter's one yesterday, she said on the way home that she had a speaking part "Heee Haw  Heeee Haw" she was a donkey

Sorry to hear you two had difficulty sleeping Yogi and Skylark, it's so hard when thoughts keep whizzing around in your head.  I was a bit the same, woke too early, I tell you it's not easy when you are trying to do Christmas on a day which isn't Christmas to fit in with your family.  My daughter said yesterday that they were going for my grandson's day off on the 28th so I altered all my Christmas deliveries online.  And then I spoke to my eldest grandson yesterday evening and he said he was sure that he and his brother had said the 21st December.  I am waiting to hear before changing all my deliveries again

It occurred to me that maybe Pirate isn't feeling too festive so this one is in his honour

Squiggle, if you are referring to Pirate's post up there ^^^^, I think that was a quote from Twitter, rather than how Pirate is feeling about Christmas.

I hope you get your delivery dates sorted out quickly, Squiggle.

Youngest son did all of his Christmas gift shopping online - in less than an hour - but guess who will have to wait in for the deliveries?

Oh well it's nice to have a special one in our visitor's honour anyway Yogi, just in case

I hope your deliveries aren't coming with Yodel, its gaining quite a reputation for unreliability online.

I hope they aren't coming with Yodel, they do have a terrible reputation, Squiggle. The parcel which came today was with Hermes, and they have been pretty reliable on previous ocassions. On the other hand (in my experience), DX are terrible!
