What's his name and how old is he? El, my knowledge of Greek Mythology is patchy to say the least, so I'm glad I was on the right track.

He is called Taki and yes he is a springer.  My knowledge of Greek Mythology could be written on the back of a postage stamp with plenty of room to spare

Skylark! welcome back, it's good to see you Aw hello puppy what a cutie, and I like his unusual name I have news- miss bramble is no longer my ickle puppy baby she's a fully fledged womanly teenager who's come into season we've spent the evening laying down coverings, she's relegated back to just the kitchen at night times and demoted to downstairs only for the next couple of weeks. My mum is going to wonder what on earth has happened to our house lol

Good morning everyone, yes a decided chill in the air.  The only thing I recognise about the name Taki is I am sure there was a columnist in a newspaper called that at some stage.

Crete sounds lovely, was it Gerald Durrell who wrote about Corfu and made it sound idyllic? I bet Crete is just as good, it certainly looks it.

I have never ever read any of Taki's material but remained familiar with some of his more extreme work when satirised in Private Eye. They gave him the soubriquet, TakeaLotofcokeupthenose.

Writes "High Life" in The Spectator though due to his views, The Spectator does not permit him to write about Israel of Jewish affairs (according to Wiki).

Good morning everyone. The sun is shining again.

Squiggle, I hope I get a view as good as the pic you posted, that looks like bliss!

Summer, I am envious of your yoga teacher and her house in Crete. When we were in Corfu, we found the locals to be very friendly and the weather and food were lovely. Fingers crossed that Crete is the same.

Ooooh, Bramble's first season, she is getting all grown up. You'll need to take care if you are out with her that no naughty boy dogs get their wicked way with her. No off lead roaming until the all clear!

Yogi19

Hi all, been a lovely day here, sun shone although it felt a bit frosty.
I see Bramble has gone into season,Summer, always a time i hated! My dog would go at Christmas time, so you can imagine! It was worse too because of her always wanting to sit on the lap of whoever was visiting, not a good move when around that time visitors  were usually in their finery! As Yogi says always keep her on the lead and watch out too for other dogs who may not be on the lead, it can become a bit scary when a male dog is determined to have its wicked way
Hope you are having a nice time with your mum Summer x
Hope you have all had a good day x

Hi Yogi, good for you getting the weeding done, its tiring tho eh? I have some daffs i want to get sorted, will do that next week.
Thats a big bottle to get rid of !! I wonder if its the same one nana uses when she washes granddaughters clothes, its horrible ! I dont want to say tho!
Squiggle,  you got the wrong time for dogsitting ! x

I've got a mental image of you as Miss Marple.

I hope your granddaughter has a great time, give her a hug from her forum auntie.

Off for a bath and an early night, catch up tomorrow.

Goodnight everyone.

Ooh you've just reminded me that it's time to plant spring bulbs! Thank you One great thing about Bramble being a small breed, is that I can scoop her up in my arms if i need to! It's just whether she's happy to stay in my arms if another dog is around.. She's been licking my mum loads tonight, she's very happy to see her lol Skylark I hope the little miss has a lovely holiday, is she looking forward to it? Sweet dreams to you all, I hope everyone has had a lovely Saturday

Good morning everyone

Cloudy here but dry at present. Heavy rain and strong winds forecast as you all know. Here it will start later this morning, get heavier then ease a bit, but the worst looks as if it will be from 4 to 9 tomorrow morning. I'm glad I don't have to commute to work. Eases for a time later on Monday morning as it moves north then it's forecast to come back south again so Tuesday looks wet as well.

Take care if you have to go out at all.

Good morning everyone, heavy rain all day and for most of the week ahead, so enjoy your sunshine Yogi and anyone else the sun is shining on this morning.

What is it about these smelly products?  They are all supposed to smell nice but some of them smell awful, very puzzling.  When they brought Febreze out it had a lovely smell but you can't get the original now, it's all weird smells instead.  I stick to Fairy softener which is just a nice gentle smell.

2 lovely pictures squiggle and Summer to brighten up the day.

Baptisms at the church service this morning. Our curate used the parable about the woman who lost 10 silver coins from Luke 15:

“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

As it was a baptism there were quite a few young children and the curate got them involved by hiding 10 chocolate coins in silver foil near the font and asking the children to find them. Then they came to the front, sat on cushions on the floor while she gave an illustrated talk with pictures depicting the story. She asked the children what the story meant and one of the children (junior school age I guess) said that the coins were like children who had become lost and God was unhappy. But then they were found and God became happy.

Out of the mouths of babes comes great wisdom
