Probably. When it becomes unbearable, you'll have to lose it.

Off to bed, see you tomorrow. Sweet dreams, Summer.

Good morning everyone

A lovely sunny morning here. It looks as if in this part of the country we will have some decent weather for the rest of the week. Strange how it coincides with children returning to school.

I know there was a forum software update yesterday across all the Hoop.la sites but as far as I can tell, the changes made don't apply to Gagajoyjoy.

One of the Radio 4 newsreaders Charlotte Green will be leaving next year. She will always be remembered for this (the drawings on the clip were added by the person who created the clip) (just to reassure you that the title of the clip is a bit misleading as Charlotte Green was not laughing at the death she was trying to announce but as a direct result of the item preceding that announcement)

I had a little problem with the tax software I use for my clients. Yesterday I was doing the capital allowances calculation and needed to disallow 2.5% for private use. The software just showed this as 25%. I can put in 2% or 3% but not anything inbetween. So I rang the support number and they confirmed what I had found. Today they rang me and sent me a patch which sorts this out. It will get included in the main update they do once a month, but I have my own advance version.

It's good to know that my software people do listen to their customers and sort things out on a speedy basis

2.% private use may seem trivial, but it's not. The client is a taxi driver and as he uses another car for private use, the private use for this car would always be very small. There's a quirk with cars and capital allowances. Generally cars over a certain level of CO2 emission only get 10% a year in capital allowances. That means that when the owner comes to sell them, it is almost certain that the car would be sold at a much lower value than its tax written value thus creating a loss. Cars which have no private use are all in one pool for tax purposes. That means that the loss on sale doesn't get offset against your profits straight away but over many years afterwards. If thay have some private use, they have their own individual pool which means they do get tax relief on the loss in the year the car is sold.

Yay, Sue Johnson is in Corrie. I love Sue!

Love her too, hope she stirs up the street

I've loved her since her Sheila Grant days in Brookside.

She was brilliant in Waking The Dead. I miss Waking The Dead.
