Goodnight all, sweet dreams x

Good morning everyone, damp as well here but thank goodness that we don't, so far, have the humidity.  I hope it's not unbearable Skylark.

Yogi well done on the laundry and tbh Skylark and Yogi with all this rain the windows would be dirty again in no time.

Good luck with the fish feeding Yogi, I do hope he hasn't trained the fish to give him signals when he gets back if you did something not quite the way he does

Excellent point about the windows, Squiggle.

Re the fish situation, nothing would surprise me!

El, I'll let you know if there were weighing scales involved - and Skylark, thank you for having faith in my fish-feeding abilities.

instructions to feed fish! I love it I really hope there's a diagram too!!!!! Ooh yogi, if there isn't already, draw a diagram on the instructions and hand then back to him Good morning all It's a damp, overcast morning here and 6am certainly felt like autumn this morning I'm very much looking forward to the new season, and I used to dislike it. I am indeed a changed woman I keep forgetting its a bank holiday, what are all your plans? El, when is your brother coming to visit next?
~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, the weather here over the bank holiday weekend is not good with Saturday and Monday both looking as if they are washouts in the Gloucester area.

My brother won't be coming here until the end of September partially because of the Olympics/Paralympics resulting in staff leave being curtailed. He would have come in mid September, but that would have clashed with the vicar's final service followed by a do which my brother wouldn't be interested in being at.

The instructions were as follows:

Please sprinkle in two pinches of food, and add water from the jug to the tank (the jug, complete with room-temperature water, was sitting next to the tub of fish food). Easy, peasy!

Did you have a wee chat with them when you were there?

Yes:

"Here, fishie, fishie"

"Who's a good boy then"

"No, that's bad - just you wait until your daddy get's in, then it's down the plug hole you'll go"

What are you two like?!

No, I most certainly did not chat to the fish.

Good morning everyone

It's been raining overnight, it's stopped at present, but a lot more is expected today. At present Sunday is the only day which is relatively dry, Monday is heavy rain for a large part of the day, Tuesday and Wednesday thunderstorms. May start to get drier after that.

I'm off to go to the bank and do some some shopping. Have a good day whatever you are doing and I hope the weather doesn't wreck your plans.

El Loro

I only got routine things while I was shopping - the weather has been poor so I wanted to get back quickly before it got worse. As I type this, there have been a lot of thunder and very black clouds close by but not overhead, not the day for going out for a walk in the countryside.

When Woolworths closed down, the Gloucester store remained empty. After some months, M&S announced that it was taking over the store to replace the 2 existing small branches (1 was food & women's clothes, the other was men's and children's clothes). That was welcomed by people as good news, and the store finally opened a few weeks ago. I generally shop in Cheltenham so haven't seen it. I have known one of the assistants in the Cheltenham store for over 40 years as he lived close to where my parents lived. Three weeks ago one of the other assistants told me that he was working at the Gloucester store to try it out as it would be slightly more convenient for him.

Yesterday when I was talking to a client, she told me that there had been a lot of letters to the local paper complaining about the new store. It seems that they have one of their cafes there which is taking up floor space resulting in even less choice than what was available in the 2 old stores. Today I saw that the assistant was back in the Cheltenham store, and when I talked to him, he was not impressed with what had been done in Gloucester. I think I will continue to shop in Cheltenham
