Those bakewells look very tempting

Summer, it's been a bitty day. I've been finalising accounts/tax returns for 3 clients, (and billing them ), another client wanted their paying in book back ASAP so I got the info I needed and dropped it back to the client. Then with the forecast I decided to cut the grass whilst it was dry. Within a couple of minutes of me finishing, there was a sharp shower.
Thanks for that Bakewell, it was good
@ the pic of Bramble. She looks so settled and relaxed on your sofa - and not the least guilty at lying on your freshly laundered throw..
Thank you for the cherry bakewells, how did you know they are one of my many favourites.

Well done on getting the grass cut, sounds like you timed it just right.
We did ours at the weekend because we knew the forecast for the next week was for rain/showers.

It's a good job I haven't been to Tesco for a couple of days, I'm running low on willpower atm.

My comp has gone on a go slow ,again
I think the site is playing up, as a few people in the CBB thread are saying it's slow for them, too.

Not tonight anyway.
Signing out, son up early, so will shut comp down. Goodnight all xxxx
Edit
Goodnight Skylark, sleep well.
Oh no, Summer! I'm guessing you had to give her a bath? Our first retriever liked to rub her neck in cow dung and Harvey has been known to do it too. Thankfully, Keira doesn't do it.
I'll have a look for that app, thank you - I need all the help I can get.
If you are off to bed, I will wish you sweet dreams.
Good morning everyone
Cloudy but dry here, may be a shower later.
The people at Social Strata have upgraded the forum software overnight. It is now possible to upload smell-o-vision photos
Here's one of Bramble:
Oh, it hasn't worked, probably just as well
Good morning everyone, high cloud here today but hopefully dry, unlike tomorrow.
I wonder why dogs love those yucky smells, especially as their sense of smell is so much more powerful than ours?
Cute video
Morning x
Lovely video squiggle, what a chuckle the wee one has !
My dog loves rolling in foxes poo, and she hates water so washing her isnt fun!
Yes Summer they are the tins! If Tesco have them the others will follow no doubt.
Thinking of doing my windows today, just thinking at the moment tho
Lovely clip, squiggle
Over the past few minutes I've been hearing strange noises coming from my inside wall. I went into my back garden to see if I could see anything such as tiles falling off but nothing though I could still hear the noise. I was wondering if it might be coming from the adjoining house but I could see that her car wasn't there and there was no sign of any workmen's vehicles around. In the end I knocked but there was no reply. I walked round to the back of her house but couldn't see anything. Eventually the back door opened and it turned out to be her neighbour had gone into her house and was drilling holes. Panic over.
You and me both EL, I heard this strange noise sounded a bit like rain falling on a roof but very sharp sounding Turned out it was a huge dragonfly had got in and was whirring about down the other end of the room, luckily he found his way out again just as I was on my way to rescue him
An article by a psychologist on why dogs like rolling in smelly things:

I see the scent marking theory is also mentioned in that link, El, so maybe it isn't a lot of rubbish after all.
Squiggle, I missed the video on my last visit, I thought it was great. It brought back happy memories of my youngest son and our first golden retriever.
When we were out walking, Keira kicked off at a young collie who was also out for a walk with his owner. As far as I could see, the collie didn't do anything wrong, she was just being a bossy boots, with lots of growly barking. She got a severe ticking off, that sort of behaviour will not be tolerated. She knew I wasn't happy, and behaved like an for the rest of the walk.
Naughty Keira.
Over the years, there have been a few times when other dogs have kicked off, without provocation, at Keira - and it's not nice. So, I'm certainly not going to put up with it from her. I don't think she'll do it again in a hurry, she doesn't like to be in the bad books.
Gloucester will be having a series of mystery plays. On the local news today it was announced that as part of the series (though what it has to do with mystery plays is a mystery to me) on 15 June next year there will be a music event at the Kingsholm stadium. Rick Wakeman together with the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra and the Gloucester Cathedral choirs will be performing his "The Myths and Legends of King Arthur". This will be the first time it has been performed in the UK since at London in 1975.
Must be the biggest music event in Gloucester's history, and is already attracting world-wide attention.
This clip from 1975, though I hope they have better singers:
(the theme has been used by the BBC on many of its coverage of election nights)
Keira is our second golden retriever. We got our first one when my youngest son was 15months old and she was the most laidback, good-natured and clever dog ever.
I don't envy you the next fortnight with the angry mums. Poor you, it isn't going to be a fun time.
My baby has phoned and should be home in the next 30-45 minutes. I do miss him when he's away - not so keen on the suitcase of dirty washing he'll present me with on his return.
I laughed at your "hope they have better singers" comment, El.
After listening to the clip, I have to agree with you.
Summer. He arrived home about 25 minutes ago, and that pic looks like my kitchen floor.
Summer, the mystery plays are being performed over a period of time. The plays covering the creation to the Nativity are in November. Stories about the life of Jesus, the Passion, and the end of the world are in March. These will be at Gloucester Cathedral. Then all the plays will be repeated in June but performed in the traditional way from a pageant wagon in various locations in the streets of Gloucester. Also in June will be over 100 medieval groups with street theatre, music, dance and traders.
Unless I'm mistaken, the mystery plays are fairly lengthy and require some stamina from audiences as well as the performers. I believe that the intention is to attract a substantial number of tourists to Gloucester so it should be very crowded (which is a bit offputting to me).
Although the tickets for the Rick Wakeman concert are not yet available, they are already taking priority bookings. I would think the prices for the concert will be at the top end of the scale considering that every single Rick Wakeman fan in the world will be wanting to come as this is a one-off of something which had been thought lost for over 30 years.
Hi all, have you ploughed through all the washing yet Yogi?
Good luck with the kids Summer!

I have one load left to wash and that's it.
I'll iron some of it tomorrow but the rest can wait until the weekend.
I don't blame you for leaving the windows. I was also looking at my windows today and thinking I ought to clean them - but I didn't.

Yes, I am glad to have him back home with us.
I don't like the 10pm start for BB either, I wish they'd stick to 9pm every night.
