Goodnight all, not leaving out Miss Bramble xx
My anger towards Jasmine is off the scale, need to get off before i combust x
I know what you mean, Skylark. There is something far wrong with that girl - or she is just plain evil.
Goodnight, sweet dreams.
Off to bed, goodnight Summer and Bramble, see you tomorrow.
Good morning everyone
Cloudy here but dry at present, may be showers later. At the rate things are going, there is a very real possibility that 2012 may break the record for the wettest year on record. Locally, the total rainfall for the year to date already exceeds the total for 2011 though that was below average.
Good morning everyone. Cloudy atm, with rain forecast for later.
El, I shouldn't be surprised if this were to be the wettest year on record, it has been awful.
Good morning everyone, just back from running my grandson to his first day at work. Grey and cloudy today, we may get some dry weather one day this week but after that I don't have a clue. I hope people get some dry weather for the Bank Holiday. (Which is this weekend for us in England although I believe for people in Scotland it was at the beginning of August).
Summer will you take Bramble to obedience classes do you think? Especially now as she is trying to test you out? Well done on standing firm, a happy dog is a well trained dog.
I loved this, and I know just how he feels.
Morning
Awww lovely clip squiggle x
Raining here and so warm
Think its a Bank Holiday weekend here too , well i noticed the Post offices are closed. Not sure if the schools are off (ours went back last week).
Hope your grandson enjoys his first day at work squiggle x
Aww Squiggle, what a lovely video. His love for his wife and his strong faith were very moving.
Atm, forecasters seem to have got it wrong, as the sun has been shining since 11a.m.
I'm sure the predicted rain will appear at some point.
Summer he has already got his uniform! They have put his name on his locker, he is getting 10 sets of chef whites, with his name embroidered on them. 5 sets are embroidered already and 5 are being embroidered. They are ordering him shoes too. Aren't they great?

Indeed they are. It all sounds very professional and organised, I hope he'll be really happy working for them.
Squiggle, will they be washing your grandson's uniform or is he expected to do that himself?
EL as he intends to live on site I am almost certain the whites will be professionally laundered along with the hotel linen. It's a very slick operation and typical of this group of hotels, well known as the finest in this part of the world.
His next expense is that he has to buy his own knives.
Squiggle, I think I've heard somewhere before about each chef having their own set of knives. Very much part of their tools of the trade. Your grandson should be able to claim tax relief on the cost. Go for good quality professional chef knives. Wash them by hand as dishwashers will blunt them. He'll probably also need to buy a steel to keep the knives sharp.
So pleased for your grandson squiggle. !0 sets of whites is a good amount to work with Is he expected to get his knives soon? As you know they can be very expensive. Maybe the other chefs can advise him on where to get a good deal. x
Still warm and humid here. Got the windows wide open and the curtains arent moving one bit!
The hotel has a firm they buy the knives from. He can probably start saving for them as soon as he gets his first pay cheque. Good advice about tax relief EL, but what if he is on P.A.Y.E. which he will be?

Thats good then squiggle. Dont know how it affects P.A.Y.E , El will probably explain tomorrow
Goodnight xx
Goodnight xx
Goodnight Skylark.
Off to bed. Goodnight Summer, sweet dreams.
Good morning everyone
Fair weather here today, there may be a shower later.
Squiggle, your grandson could ask the people he works with what they have done in order to claim tax relief on the knives. If they don't know, here's a link to the HMRC giving some advice on this:

Good morning everyone, breezy and cloudy here.
He phoned me during the split shift break Skylark, it seems to be going well. Already he is learning new things and he is going to buy a notebook to note down those things so that next time he is asked to make something he will not have to ask anyone. I think his shift today is the inbetween one because he starts at 1.
Thanks for the advice EL, I will be sure to pass it on.
Summer two beautiful pictures, I am not sure which I like the best .

Good idea, Squiggle. He sounds really keen and enthusiastic.
Summer, golden retrievers are very friendly and loveable. They make great pets for families with children.
Morning x
Lovely pics Summer.
Glad your grandson is doing well squiggle
Warm here today but nice and breezy, thank goodness. I feel so much better today now we have some fresh air.
Got to do some food shopping , have a good day x
It makes such a difference Skylark, doesn't it. I hate humidity, it is lovely and breezy here today, you just feel better somehow.
Skylark and Summer, if you see anything delicious and low in calories, could you get it for me, please?
I've done a huuuuuggge pile of ironing. I wanted to get it done before youngest son gets home tomorrow and gives me a suitcase full of dirty washing to deal with.
Middle son and his fiancÃĐe are away on holiday too - but they'll do their own washing when they get back.
I do have to go over to their place and feed the fish tomorrow.
