Good morning everyone

Cloudy here but dry at present, may be showers later. At the rate things are going, there is a very real possibility that 2012 may break the record for the wettest year on record. Locally, the total rainfall for the year to date already exceeds the total for 2011 though that was below average.

Good morning everyone, just back from running my grandson to his first day at work.  Grey and cloudy today, we may get some dry weather one day this week but after that I don't have a clue.  I hope people get some dry weather for the Bank Holiday. (Which is this weekend for us in England although I believe for people in Scotland it was at the beginning of August).

Summer will you take Bramble to obedience classes do you think?  Especially now as she is trying to test you out?  Well done on standing firm, a happy dog is a well trained dog.

Good afternoon Sunny at times but cloudy here now, I just don't know what the weather is going to be like Squiggle oh I'm so excited for your grandson when does he gets his uniform?! I don't think we'll take Bramble to any classes, she is very obedient for a terrier, and eager to please too. People are quite often surprised at how well trained she already is. I think yesterday she was just testing me, this morning she has been good as gold She gets very excited when she sees people and other dogs so I think a class could be chaotic for her, I've also heard horror stories of bigger dogs attacking smaller one's at classes, setting them back more than helping.. I would consider agility training when she's a little older though, I think she would enjoy that!

Indeed they are. It all sounds very professional and organised, I hope he'll be really happy working for them.

Squiggle, I think I've heard somewhere before about each chef having their own set of knives. Very much part of their tools of the trade. Your grandson should be able to claim tax relief on the cost. Go for good quality professional chef knives. Wash them by hand as dishwashers will blunt them. He'll probably also need to buy a steel to keep the knives sharp.

So pleased for your grandson squiggle. !0 sets of whites is a good amount to work with     Is he expected to get his knives soon? As you know they can be very expensive. Maybe the other chefs can advise him on where to get a good deal. x

Still warm and humid here. Got the windows wide open and the curtains arent moving one bit!

Good morning everyone, breezy and cloudy here.

He phoned me during the split shift break Skylark, it seems to be going well.  Already he is learning new things and he is going to buy a notebook to note down those things so that next time he is asked to make something he will not have to ask anyone.  I think his shift today is the inbetween one because he starts at 1.

Thanks for the advice EL, I will be sure to pass it on.

Summer two beautiful pictures, I am not sure which I like the best .

Good idea, Squiggle. He sounds really keen and enthusiastic.

Summer, golden retrievers are very friendly and loveable. They make great pets for families with children.

Skylark and Summer, if you see anything delicious and low in calories, could you get it for me, please?

I've done a huuuuuggge pile of ironing. I wanted to get it done before youngest son gets home tomorrow and gives me a suitcase full of dirty washing to deal with.

Middle son and his fiancÃĐe are away on holiday too - but they'll do their own washing when they get back.

I do have to go over to their place and feed the fish tomorrow.
