evening Yogi thank you, yes I am feeling a lot better! I fasted for 18 hours and then had some toast & a cuppa tea. I'm feeling much much better tonight I'm really pleased you're happy with your hair was your stylist happy to chop it? Squiggle, it's been a quiet afternoon at work (rainy day) and I've head in my Italian based book as often as possible- its been delicious indeed!

Glad you are feeling better, Summer. How's Mr summer and his mum, are they feeling better too?

When I told my hairdresser I wanted to chop it, she laughed and said, "I'm surprised you lasted this long" - she knows me so well.

Thanks Skylark, he is buzzing and I have set the alarm, can't afford to oversleep tomorrow.  Bless him during the split shift bit he's going to walk to the nearest place where the late buses run to make sure he can do it if necessary when he get off shift (its nearly 3 miles so a 6 mile round trip).  I am secretly hoping that one of the other kitchen staff will be able to give him a lift as far as there.

Summer, Mr Summer is a sweetheart.

Poor old H, he won't even go upstairs so I can't blame him.

My son and DiL took him on a ferry - and son had to carry Harv (he weighs a lot!) up and down the stairs on the boat.

Son and DiL don't have stairs in their home so he never got used to going upstairs.

Let's just say if he was a boxer, he would be a heavyweight.

I hope your leccy is back on.

Just reading about the death of Winnie Johnson, how sad she never got to find her son and give him a funeral  

I know what you mean Skylark, but my prayer is that she herself came to faith before she died because her son will be in heaven and there is therefore no sadness as they are now reunited.  I hope that this may be so, God is very merciful and she suffered terribly in her life.  What a fate awaits that evil monster who took her son's life and that of so many other innocent children.

Weather looks fair today, there may be a few showers later.

I see that BBC2 has a double bill this afternoon of the British war films "Carve her name with pride" and "The way to the stars". Two high quality films which deal as much with self sacrifice and loss as with action. But there is possibly a unique connection with the two films and that is that they became famous for their use of poetry.

In "Carve her name with pride" a poem by Leo Marks is used as a code message.

It reads:

The life that I have
