Squiggle, I think your grandson needs to get his wrist checked out in case the pinning is causing problems.
Oh squiggle, poor lad its one thing after another Yes better getting the wrist looked at, more so if he landed on it x
Hope the work is over and done with quickly El, that drilling noise goes right through you, doesnt it.
EL what a nuisance that is going to be for you, I hope it will all be finished in one day

I wish it was, but it will go on all week. They've been at it for around 3 hours and are still working on the back of the house, then there's the side of the house overlooking our drive and the front of the house, and that's just getting rid of the exisiting rendering.
Son landed safely. Says the heat hit him like a brick, its 32 degrees Told him to drink lots of bottled water and put on lots of sun lotion.
Skylark, you can relax now your son has landed safely
I can! I checked the airport arrivals many times
Lashing rain here now, dog all ready for her walk, she will have to wait.

You remind me of my mother in the past when she would agitate when my brother was coming back from holiday waiting for his phonecall to say he had arrived back safely.

Good, I hope he has a high sun protection factor packed safely among his smellies.

Aww, yes it comes with the territory, cant stop being a mum x
Yes squiggle , he has lots!
I've just had a phone call from a client. He's another accountant and quite often rings me for accounts and tax technical help. His query this time was nothing to do with accounts or tax but with his computer.
His keyboard had been working OK, but it suddenly started acting oddly. When he pressed the number 0 this came out as /. An i became a 5 and the letter o became a 6.
I hadn't come across this before but a quick google search gave the answer. He uses a laptop and had accidentally turned the numlock on. On his laptop it turns part of the ordinary keyboard into a number keyboard.
Good to hear your son has landed safely, Skylark. I hope he has a great time and texts you regularly so you know he's okay.
Well done on figuring out the computer problem, El.
Squiggle, has your grandson gone to get his wrist checked out?
Yogi I think he is going to the doc today, but whether he will actually go is another matter you know what they can be like.
Glad you managed to sort out your friend's request EL, whatever would we do without Google?
Hi Yogi, sorry didnt see you there! Thanks, yes he will be fine, says she hopefully !
Hope your grandson goes for a check squiggle , yes i understand what they are like too! x

Oh you are good. I need to do that...........sometime.
See you later.
Will you have her spayed, or do you think you might like her to have puppies when she's older?
Off for a nice long soak in the bath, see you all tomorrow.
Goodnight everyone.
How's the dog Sweet?
Will you have her spayed, or do you think you might like her to have puppies when she's older?
Not sure yet yogi, mr summer had his lurched spayed and regretted it. We'd never breed her until she was at least 3 though so plenty of time to think on it yet. Did Keira get done?
Sweet dreams
How's the dog Sweet?

Im awf to sleepsville now velvet, hope, you sleep, well yourself
Good morning all. The sun is shining this morning, with cloud forecast for the afternoon.
Summer, we weren't sure what to do about spaying Keira, as we hadn't had our first retriever done. However, Keira had an awful first season - she is very feathered at the back and it was like Nightmare on Elm Street - so we had a chat with the vet about getting her done. Vet said, if we had no intention of breeding her (which we didn't) then spaying was a good idea. Not only did it mean we wouldn't have to worry about her accidentally getting "caught" but it also reduced the risk of pyometra when she was older. So we had her done when she was 11 months old.
Good morning everyone
Very cloudy here, it rained overnight, and looks as if there will be more rain today.
The workmen next door have removed the rendering from the back, so they will start on the side overlooking the drive today. It's going to take longer than anticipate. The weather is not going to help matters. I assume they can remove the old rendering, but I don't think they can put on the new rendering until there's some dry weather. Looking at the present forecast, it could be some time before there's dry weather, unlikely to be any until next week.
It's a pity they didn't do it last week.
Good morning everyone, drizzly here. That sounds such a nuisance to have to live next door to EL. Do you think it will be noisy and messy when they put the new rendering on too?
I agree about spaying, our dog was male as you know but we looked after my sister's Scotty bitch when she went on holiday and wouldn't you know it she came into season and it was a nightmare, every dog in the neighbourhood was trying to get at her This was before we had Ben.
Squiggle, I suspect it will be almost as messy and noisy when they come to do the rendering next door but oddly enough I'm no expert in this
Summer, nice plate of pastries, I've just pinched the one at the top and it tastes yummy (and no calories too )
Freshly baked, just for you
Morning all x
Oh lovely food!
Yes Summer, house is very quiet! Was up very early with the sun shining in. Yes the sun!!
Off out for the day to enjoy it.
Have a good one whatever you are doing , and El, hope the day goes well for you x
Those custard tarts look delicious thank you EL. If I don't miss my guess they are Portuguese custard tarts, totally different to English custard tarts but equally delicious.
Squiggle, you may be right in them being Portuguese custard tarts. The photo was posted on an American food site but they don't look like the typical ones you get here in the UK.
I wouldn't have known but there was a small sandwich shop next door to where I worked and they used to sell Portuguese custard tarts and the custard bit is totally different, not an egg custard but more of a cooked custard if you know what I mean.
Sad news indeed, and she was only 72.
