Hope you feel better in the morning, sweet dreams.

Good morning everyone

Looks as if the rain here was delayed, so it started raining a couple of hours ago. At present it's quite light but looks as if it will be heavier in an hour or so, then ease off, then get heavier again this afternoon. Best part of an inch looks likely. I'm glad our church fete was last Saturday and feel sorry for those with fetes etc today.

I'm off to do my shopping and hope to avoid the worst of the rain.

I think we could all do with some decent weather. There have been sunny days here but here there seems to be 2 good days, 2 OK days, and 3 wet days a week. And the temperature in the day time has for much of the last 3 months has been about 4 degrees C below average.

My favourite comment on the whole of this BB I can hear it in a very broad Scots accent

Good morning everyone, we're in between drizzly bits at the mo and (whisper it) I think we might have some sun tomorrow, but it won't last.

Isn't it a pity ladies that we are not writing the scripts for Corrie, we could do a much better job, can someone tell me what is so wrong with a few happy endings?

squiggle

Morning x
Dreary here this morning, hope it doesnt rain, going out with granddaughter, just into town to pass the day.
Morning squiggle, glad you liked my comment   Corrie is getting a bit depressing isnt it, and that headmaster, i mean really??
What a beautiful dog Otis is x

Hope you are feeling better this morning Summer x

Have a good day all

Good morning a chilly but bright start here today, dark clouds have drawn across the sky and we're expecting rain anytime I'm feeling alright this morning thank you mr summer and I have vowed to eat healthier to boost our immune systems, and improve our general health. he's slow cooking a marinated pork joint for tea, which means I don't need to pick anything up on my way home from work What an adorable puppy! Aren't they precious at that age?! We've just been saying how fast miss bramble has grown, I'm shocked at how tiny she is in our early pictures of her! Squiggle, what's he/she called?!
~Sparkling Summer~
Lol she has grown very fast El, but she is on high protein puppy food, so I'm not surprised. She shouldn't grow too much bigger now, border terriers are classed as a small breed. She will be moving on to juniors food in about a month, my baby girl is growing up! I've been trying to find out where/when I can get a glimpse of the queen on Wednesday when she visits the north east, there are a few opportunities so please keep your fingers crossed for me I would love to see the queen!
~Sparkling Summer~

Good afternoon all. Weather is overcast but thankfully still dry.

Squiggle, what a gorgeous pup. I like his name too.

Summer, glad you are feeling a bit better today. Was it a bug/virus you had, or were you just feeling a bit run down?

Skylark and Squiggle, I agree we'd be much better at scriptwriting than the current lot at Corrie. Happy endings are good for the soul.

Skylark, I hope the rain has stayed off for your trip to town with your granddaughter.

El, I think Summer will be hoping your predicted growth levels for Bramble are incorrect.

I'm afraid to say I lost my temper this morning.

The dry weather means Bouncing Billy has been out in force over the last two days. Twice yesterday, I had to return his basketball, which had landed in my plants. This morning, I was in the kitchen with Mr Yogi when there was a resounding bang as the basketball hit my greenhouse and then knocked over three planters. Instead of gritting my teeth and returning the ball (albeit with a scowl on my face), which is what I usually do, I told him how fed up I was with the ball continuously breaking my plants, knocking over planters and garden furniture and belting off the greenhouse. I was more than a wee bit annoyed.

Bouncing Billy said nothing, but he and his friend went indoors.

I hate morphing into" the old bag next door" but I am so fed up with him and his blooming basketball.

Yogi19

Yogi, I hope Bouncing Billy realises what an irritant is he

As you may remember I'm on the rota for doing the weekly update on our church website. 2 weeks ago I found that the husband & wife who were supposed to do it hadn't so I did it for them. Last week I found out that the person due to do it hadn't, so I did it for him. He might have got around to it but as there was an event in the church hall that evening I thought I better do the update otherwise people might miss it.

Generally the weekly update take about 10 minutes to do, so it's not a huge job. This coming week it's my turn to do it. I got the details through this morning (by email) and when I looked at it I realised that there was more to it than normal. I didn't want to leave it until tomorrow and decided to do it this afternoon when I had a bit of time. It didn't take long to do the routine items but there was an extra item which consisted of several events. Due to the unusual nature of this extra item I thought I better not just paste the details on to one of the oridnary web pages of the site and so I decided to create a new page. I worked out how to do this and also how to position it where I wanted it to appear on the site. I also had a picture to put on the page, and I was able to do that without too much difficulty. The whole exercise took about an hour to do instead of the normal 10 minutes, but I've done it now.

This extra item is that the Archbishop of Canterbury is visiting the diocese of Gloucester next weekend. The main event will be on the Saturday at the Cathedral with lots of things going on throughout the afternoon. Then on Sunday there will be 3 mini pilgrimages in the Forest of Dean one led by the Archbishop, one by the Bishop of Gloucester, and one by the Bishop of Tewkesbury. The pilgrimages culminate in a service there. I hope the weather next weekend is good for the people going to this. I won't be going to any of this as my brother will be down next weekend and there wouldn't be the time.

If only the ball was a bit smaller, Harvey would happily sink his teeth into it.

Only 32 of these have been produced. They are a bit expensive though:

At $100,000 it's a bit beyond me, and I would need a considerably larger coffee table

Wow El, I wouldn't even need my glasses to read that one.

Well done on getting the webpage updated, El. I wouldn't have a clue where to start with something like that.

I hope the weather stays dry next weekend for the pilgrimages.

Do you and your brother have any plans, or will you be relaxing and chilling out?

Yogi19

Yogi, we'll probably just chill out. My brother seems to come here every 6 weeks or so but next weekend will be the last until he comes down at the end of September. As he works in Dagenham and lives a bit to the north east of there in Ilford, travelling by rail to the centre of London during the Olympics and then the Paralympics is something he wants to avoid. Also the council has made it clear to staff that they expect staff not to take their holidays during that time. The first weekend after the Paralympics was going to be when he came to see me next but he is probably postposing his visit by a fortnight to the end of September. The vicar will be retiring in the middle of September. He will have his farewell service on the Saturday evening when my brother would have been coming. The service will almost certainly be followed by a farewell do so I expect there for the whole of the Saturday evening. My brother wouldn't want to be involved and I can hardly leave him alone for the evening. I've already talked this over with him and he would prefer to postpone his visit.

We have a new addition to the family. A bear called Eddie! There is a shop here called Build a Bear Workshop (it may be nationwide) You pick a bear, then take it to be stuffed. They put a red heart inside before they sow it up, and ask the child to make a wish. Granddaughter was thrilled. You can build up the outfits teddy can wear. At the moment he has jazzy trainers, shorts and t-shirt, and pink slippers. Not sure why Gd picked Eddie as a name, as she wants him dressed as a girl too! Next week we are getting more outfits. Its fun, not cheap tho i have to say. I have a feeling he may have a ballet tutu next week  Its also good for discipline, if Gd doesnt behave she doesnt get more outfits for him
