Hehe what a darling wig Bramble went missing tonight for a full 10 mins! My heart stopped she must have chased a little creature and got lost, she eventually emerged far behind me on the other side of the path and looking rather pleased to see me! I've never been so relieved in all my life!!!! Hope everyone is having/had a nice evening El, I don't want to give up but right now I cannot think of how those words are connected!

Aww Summer, it gives you such a fright when they do the Houdini act. Glad you got her back safely.

I have had Harvey for four days this week and if he even disappears behind the greenhouse for a few seconds, I get in a panic.

I think I know the answer to El's word puzzle but I won't say just yet.

@ Brambloudini.

My son and DiL were both working. On Monday and Tuesday, Harv stayed on an overnighter. He was at home yesterday then back this morning and will go home tomorrow night. Basically, he stays with me whenever their shifts mean he would be alone for any length of time. Keira is always happy to see him.

Good morning everyone

After a wet night it's sunny at present here, but there's the potential for hefty showers over the next couple of days.

Here's my list of words again:

bangle

cot

loot

pyjamas

shampoo

veranda

yoga

I'll add a couple more which may make it a bit easier, or at least may confirm Yogi's thought.

bungalow

thug

So far today the weather has been quite pleasant here. Looks as if the worst weather here will be between 4 and 7 tomorrow morning - there's an amber weather warning out for that covering quite a wide area, but I think Gloucester although in the amber area may avoid the really torrential rain - Worcester about 40 miles away looks as if it will get soaked.

The answer to my puzzle follows on the next line.

All the words in that list originally came from India.

I've hidden the line in case you are still trying to work it out but just use your pointer over the line & press the button to hightlight the line.

Spoon-billed sandpipers are amongst the rarest birds in the world. There's only about 100 breeding pairs in the wild. To try to stop them becoming extinct efforts are being made to stop this happening. The Wildlife and Wetlands Trust centre is involved in the efforts. The WWT is at Slimbridge which is about 16 miles south of where I live.

There are 12 full grown sandpipers at Slimbridge. Recently the WWT arranged for 20 eggs to be brought here from Arctic Russia. By yesterday 14 of them had hatched, and another 4 are expected to hatch in the next few days. This is only the second time in the world that chicks have hatched outside the wilds of the Russian tundra, and is a first in the UK.

It takes a couple of years for the chicks to grow and it is hoped that having some 30 birds at Slimbridge will encourage a greater chance of breeding. The intention would then be to sent the eggs back to the tundra to hatch and then when ready to release the birds into the wild.

This is what a spoonbill sandpiper looks like:

Hi Summer, meant to ask the same thing !
How are you?

I was wondering too about the hairstyle but I didn't like to ask in case you had decided that you had had enough and couldn't stand it anymore.  I hope the new style is fully grown and beautiful now.
