The SNP has had its way. Scotland is now cut off from England.

 

Network Rail say both main lines connecting Scotland and England are blocked by landslides.

The West Coast line is shut at Tebay in Cumbria while the East Coast main line is obstructed at Berwick.

One Virgin Trains service from London to Glasgow was stranded in the Lake District for more than two hours between two landslides but it is now heading back towards Oxenholme in Cumbria.

It's going to be a day of sunshine and showers here and quite blustery. They're not expecting a repeat of yesterday though.

Good morning Sunny here this morning. Last night was the worst weather I've ever driven in, worse than any snow I've seen! I saw Tarmac burst with water coming out like fountains my SIL took 5 hours to get home from work, the roads were like rivers. Did you see the Tyne bridge on the news?! No one here is hurt though, all is well

Summer, I'm glad no-one you know was hurt yesterday. It shows just how powerful water can be. All train services between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed have been cancelled and there is no replacement bus service according to the BBC site.

 

Horrific weather Summer I am glad everyone is safe.  Patchy weather at the moment here but it could be anything at all later

Summer, that weather sounds dreadful. It's very lucky that nobody was hurt.

I can't believe this is the end of June and not November, the weather is atrocious for summer.

I guess we can't have end of June buddies BBQ can we? What are everyone's weekend plans?

Summer, no specific plans yet. Next Saturday is when we have the annual church fete. Most of the is outdoors using the main carpark and the vicarage back lawn which is next to the car park. Some of it is in the church hall - refreshments, cake stall etc. If the weather is bad we then have to have it indoors using the church hall and the back of the church, but it makes it very crowded and the numbers attending suffer. It is rare that it is held indoors. According to one weather forecast site Saturday the 7th is forecast to be dry, but that could well change between now and then.

 

 

Tomorrow, we are having a family get-together for eldest son's birthday, and hopefully just chilling on Sunday.

I would really like a restful weekend after a ridiculously busy week which I seemed to have spent trying to multitask to the point of exhaustion.  I suspect instead that I will be running Granma's taxi service.

Maybe we could get a discount, if we buy two of those neon taxi signs for the top of our cars?

Here we are... A treat for our tired achy feet El I can't see that clip on the app but I promise to watch it on my iPad when I retire for the night, it sounds lovely. Another busy day, colleague-less Mr summer walked the dog and cooked tea while I did kettlebell and had a soak in the bath he's a keeper!

I've had a nice, relaxing bath before I watch the BB eviction. Don't want either Lydia or Deana to go, would much prefer it to be Conor, Caroline, Ashleigh or Luke S. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll be stuck with the nasties until the end.

Oh i know Yogi, i dont want Deana to go because Conor will think he is the bees knees, and i dont want Lydia to go either, she has more to give....
