Good morning everyone, it has been raining but it seems to be clearing up now.  Lovely picture of Bramble Summer, I have put it on my phone now, hope you don't mind, only my eldest grandson is mad about dogs - he's never been allowed to own one himself although his dad has always had one.

Soozy hope all goes well with the kitchen, it sounds so exciting and I know the upheaval is awful but it will be worth it.  We would love a picture when it's all finished.  My kitchen has only 3 sides! Because it opens out onto the dining room which in turn leads out onto the patio doors onto the decking.  The kitchen itself is very old, pine cupboards, but works well enough for me.  Plenty of work surfaces and a practical kitchen rather than a beautiful one.

Thanks for the info about the story EL very interesting. I was getting confused with this

The Whangdoodle was once the wisest, the kindest, and the most extraordinary creature in the world. Then he disappeared and created a wonderful land for himself and all the other remarkable animals -- the ten-legged Sidewinders, the little furry Flukes, the friendly Whiffle Bird, and the treacherous, "oily" Prock. It was an almost perfect place where the last of the really

which I remember created a bit of an uproar in America because the title was supposed to be slang for a naughty word or bit of your body

^^^^ It's that bit which is the problem. I googled.

By the bye, just got my phone bill in - Success! I haven't been charged for a phone call since my new mobile arrived.  Thanks to careful checking on 'Say No to 0870' for any billable calls - ie 0871 0844 numbers etc.  In case you haven't found your way to this site if you have to call one of these billable numbers this site will give you an alternative (free call) number that you can call instead, brilliant and real people power in action.

I'll check it out, thanks.

Excellent news on the phone bill.

Morning everyone.    Back to normal with the rain today.  We did have a nice weekend weatherwise and managed to use the barbecue for the first time this year!!

Had a great visit with No.2 son, whose now back home I'm sad to say.  I really miss him when he's gone.

Have enjoyed reading through all your posts and getting up to date with the news.  Loved the pictures of Bramble.  Hope all goes well with the kitchen renovations Soozy.

Will try and get back later.  Love you all.

Joyron

Squiggle, well done on the phone bill I had a look on that Say No site to see what it had for HMRC (the Revenue) as that is the only one I use commonly. They came up with a long list of results but generally giving the number if you are ringing from abroad and advising you to withold your number when ringing. Included in the list was the one only for agents such as myself. The site doesn't say it's only for agents. If the general public used it, HMRC would quickly realise that and tell the ringer off. If I used it, they would realise I had rung that number and withheld it and again get told off.

Glad you had a great visit with your son, Joyron, and the rain held off long enough for you to have a barbecue.

Skylark, hopefully, your electrician will do the electrics quickly, and you'll be back with us soon

That was interesting EL, for a user like myself it proves invaluable.  I had to ring a couple of catalogue companies about accounts and they give you an 0871 number which is a cheek when you think about it.  Well the numbers I got from them just put me straight through to the switchboard and everything worked as normal but no charge for the call, I checked my bill afterwards.

Glad the weekend went well Joyron and you managed to have a barbecue, I am sure you will see your son soon, I know it's always a wrench but it's all part of being a parent isn't it?  Hope the new wall lights look wonderful Skylark.

Just watched the BGT final.  I loved Molly and me and my grandson both loved Loveable Rogues.  He had never watched them because he doesn't watch BGT but I called him in to watch and he thinks they are going to be huge.

I agree with your grandson about Loveable Rogues, I really like them.

Lucky Joyron having a barbecue! We are hoping to have one or two this year, as we bought a new gas barbecue last year and never got a chance to use it.

Glad you had a nice weekend with your son. Will he be able to revisit you any time soon?

Skylark, hope you get a speedy electrician and you are back with us asap.

I've just discovered that we can no longer upload videos from our computers on to here, just photos. I've been able to do that on my site on the Hoo.do site (where the old wall, blogs, PMs are still there) so I can see it there, but can't post it here.

Edited to say that I've now deleted the clip as I now realise it's impossible for anyone else to see it.
