I haven't watched Singing In The Rain for ages, thanks for that video, El.
I loved that clip EL, in fact I loved all those Hollywood movies - didn't Gene Kelly look handsome in that clip? And interestingly Debbie Reynolds was wearing galoshes in the intro, a fashion that never caught on over here.
I've been out to the supermarket already as I have a delivery coming later, it's cloudy but dry at the moment here.
Hi everyone x
You been busy El! I saw on the news the bad weather you are having down your way
Weather here just the same, rain, rain rain. If it keeps up Nana abandoning the holiday and coming back Saturday, what a shame, but understandable, not much fun plodding around in the rain.
I love Calamity Jane, glad you enjoyed the show, Summer.
Skylark, what a shame that Nana is thinking of abandoning the holiday due to the weather. I know from experience, it isn't much fun being stuck in a caravan when the weather is awful.
I think most people agree that Singin' in the Rain is the best musical ever made and is as close to being a perfect film as have ever been made. It scores on the songs, the dancing and the comedy. And what makes it so exceptional is that it also works as a drama which most musicals can't match up to. The only criticism I have is that the Broadway Rhythm Ballet sequence with Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse, good as in itself is, belongs to a different film.
Calamity Jane is a good film as well and thoroughly enjoyable but Singin' in the Rain is unique. I know there have been theatre productions of it, but just imagine the uproar if someone decided to film a remake.
Although yesterday's weather here was very wet, we didn't get the thunderstorms forecast, and it hasn't been as bad as some parts of the country. Today hasn't been bad so far. I think the next risk day is Sunday when more heavy rain sweeps across the south, though I think the worst of it may be a bit south of where I live.
I found this on the BBC website.
Meet "Cactus Jack", but before you all start rushing to adopt him, he's in the States.

Cute dog EL but I wouldn't have said he was a Yorkie Looks more like a Border Terrier.
Difficult one, I personally wouldn't have said that Singing in the Rain was the best musical. Oklahoma, Calamity Jane, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers would be ahead in the race, in my book anyway. It will be interesting to see which way others vote.

Yes not much fun, especially with a 4 year old, getting slightly bored. Plus whats the betting, they will be back and the sun will shine !
Talking of musicals i see Oliver is advertised to be here soon, i may go...will have to look who is in it first. If Van Outen is in it, i shall pass, she irritates me !
Here's the official trailer for a 1940 Judy Garland film called Little Nellie Kelly. It's not a film I can recall ever seeing but if you play the clip, you will soon realise why I've posted it.
Dont recall ever seeing it either El, Singing in the Rain?
I notice too , just how much Lisa Minelli resembles her mum, saw her on something the other night, cant remember now what it was, but she seems more like her as she is getting older, if that makes sense!

I think you can relax, I'm not aware Van Outen is in it - she's not playing the part of Nancy so if she is in it, it would have to one of the smaller roles.
Thanks El
I like Brian Conley Think i may get tickets and take my daughter for a treat x
I like Brian Conley too and I am sure you will enjoy the show Skylark. Shame about the weather spoiling Nana's break but with a bored little one it wouldn't have been a good break.
Summer so glad you enjoyed the show.
Hi squiggle, this weather
Son has arrived home soaked to the skin, thats with all his waterproofs on too...

Enjoy your evening, Skylark.
All this talk of musicals has reminded me that I haven't been to see a show for ages. I must check out the theatres in Glasgow and see if there's anything I fancy. Unfortunately, Oliver isn't coming to Glasgow.
Son thought he was having another night with football, NO, so he is off to the pub, never forced him
Tickets a bit expensive Yogi, but going to book anyway Pity it isnt on in Glasgow

Result!
The Steamie is showing in Glasgow (next month, I think), so I might see if I can persuade one of the clan to go with me.
Off to pick up youngest son, back in 10 minutes.
Off for a bath, see you all later or tomorrow

Okay, enjoy your bath.
Still here! Ran the bath so hard, never noticed the plug plopped out! Have to wait on hot water heating up again now . I dont feel guilty, plenty of water up here

There's certainly no water shortage up here. In fact, there's been so much rain, we ought to have webbed feet.
Yes mine are webbing nicely
Oh my feet !
We might have a problem getting shoes to fit.

Now THAT could be a problem
Off this time, sweet dreams all xxxx
Night night, see you tomorrow.
Off to read, goodnight all.
Hugs for Summer and Ros.
night yogi and sky lark
Good morning everyone
Looking at the weather forecast locally I think I may well be joining you, Yogi and Skylark, in having webbed feet. It's been raining here and likely to be wet for quite a lot of the day, less rain tomorrow, but Sunday looks as if it very very wet all day, the wettest day this year so far. There is a weather station at Nailsworth which is about 14 miles away and the monthly rainfall total is already just over tha average for April so by the end of April it will be well above average. Still won't get rid of the drought as 3 months of rain are required before that is sorted.
Good morning everyone. The sun is shining atm.
Love the duck pic, El.
A drought or three months of rain - not sure which is preferable, El.
On second thoughts, I'd rather have the drought.
This ought to be my last car-less day, as Mr Yogi isn't at work this weekend and his car is being returned on Monday.
Good morning everyone, for the moment it's dry here but the forecast down here is the same as you EL, very wet on Sunday. Love the duck shoes pic
This will be you Yogi picking up your son
And I came across this in case we need refresher lessons

Brilliant, Squiggle.
Yogi, I'm sure when you get a car back and go for your first drive it will come naturally as a duck takes to water
(I thought I'd post that before anyone else does )

Well, I've got the feet for it.
