El, there's not an "attach" option for the iPhone app, I copied a [IMG] code from photo bucket and then pasted it into the comment box, to get the pics to show. Do you think the HTML code would work for videos..?

I was Summer. I hope they come back again.

I have returned from that new client and should be able to sort things out for him. When he spoke to me last week he had said he had been sent a tax return for self employment and he had never been self employed. He had been sent a self assessment tax return and had got confused between self employment and self assessment.

Ah, that makes more sense. Glad you were able to sort things out for him, El.

YAY to you for sorting out the video of Bramble.

I am glad you were able to sort out your client, it just goes to show that what seems crystal clear to someone used to these forms can be really baffling to those who are not.  That video embedded well well done

I wonder what I've got?

Whatever you've got I've got it too I just checked and my Media Player plays MP4

We could start a club. We could let El be an honorary member.

On the news today, they've been talking about the Cutty Sark being ship-shape again. Pictures here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-17818532

One or two of you might remember a post I made about the Cutty Sark a couple of years ago, but this story is worth repeating. And it's completely true.

When my maternal grandfather was 15 he left home and ran away to sea. This would have been about 1913. He went in a tea clipper and sailed around the world in it for a period of time. I cannot be certain but there is every possibility that it was the Cutty Sark. The Cutty Sark was used as a tea clipper from 1870 to 1922 when it was bought from the owners and became a training ship. It was the last tea clipper to be in active service. For a time the Cutty Sark had been renamed the Ferreira. By 1913 it was carrying various cargoes as tea was being transported by then by other means. It traded between Portugal, Rio, New Orleans and Britain. In May 1916 it was dismasted off the shore of the Cape of Good Hope. Because of WW1 being ongoing it took some 18 months before it coule be re-rigged so my grandfather must have gone back home in 1916 at the latest.

My grandfather did make a model of a tea clipper, presumably based on the one he sailed in, and had it in a bottle. I remember seeing it as a child when I went to visit my grandparents.

Not his (I don't know what happened to his) but a similar one:

I think of all the anecedotes of my family I've posted here, this is my own favourite.

I don't know what I've got - and I don't even know where to start looking, to find out.

I know I have Windows Vista ('cos' it says so, on the laptop), if that means anything to anyone.
