Good morning everyone Oh I missed the update on ros's BIL, its good to hear there's been an improvement. I had a good long sleep last night. I do feel better for it but I'm still tired I'm also worrying a lot about bringing bramble to work, I hope she's going to settle here alright. I know if I'm stressed though it'll make things worse, so I need to relax (easier said than done). She'll get used to it, I'm just a worrier Yogi, I too used to have a couple of books on the go at the same time lol

Squiggle is absolutely right, Bramble will soon settle down into her new routine. Try not to stress about it Summer, because she will sense if you are uptight. She's very bright and will quickly realise what is expected of her.

Ros I hope your BIL continues to improve and that your SIL doesn't get too stressed.

Yogi just think of how grateful your garden will be for all that lovely rain it's just not so good for we humans though is it?

No, it's not so good for us, Squiggle.

*wonders whether to buy flippers*

Summer, I agree with squiggle and Yogi about Bramble

Squiggle, following on from my post yesterday about the Marx Brothers, quite a few of their films are available to watch on Youtube including Duck Soup. I'll post the link in case you or anyone else want to watch it. My broadband is fast enough to be able to watch it without any hold ups but others may not be fast enough.

It's not a long film, a bit over an hour. The director Leo McCarey made many of the early Laurel and Hardy films.

They have all hopped off now - probably resting we have lots of tadpoles.

I am the same I can be a right worry wart and the more you tell yourself not to worry the worse it gets.

I'll try to give that link a go sometime EL, thanks for posting it.

Morning everyone.    It's raining really hard here and the strong winds are blowing the rain against the windows.  Quite creepy!!  I'm glad I changed my plans and went out to the shops yesterday instead of today.  The forecast for the rest of the week is not great either.

I've been reading what you've all been up to.  I'm sure Bramble will be fine when she goes to work with you Summer.  Much love to all my other lovely buddies.

Started filling in hubby's tax return this morning.  Always like to get that done as soon as I can, although I will have to wait for the company to provide the P11D form before I can file it online.  I wonder how much tax they will demand from us this year!!  They never seem to get his tax coding right.  I don't know what hubby would do if I was not here to fill the forms in.  I suppose he would have to ask you to do it form him El Loro!!

Have a great day whatever you are doing.  If you can stay in the warm and keep dry.

^^^^ Snap.

I'm good at telling other people to relax and try not to worry but I can't put it into practice myself.

^^^^ We should set up a "Form Fillers United" group, Joyron.

Nobody in my house seems capable of filling in a form, except me.

They say things like "your handwriting is neater than mine" and "you are better at this sort of thing". I don't know who they think they are kidding!

Yogi19

Joyron, you may have to wait ages before Hubby gets his P11D as they don't have to filed with HMRC until mid July.

I had someone ring me yesterday, someone who seems to have got into a mess with HMRC. They have been sending him tax returns with self employed pages in though he says he only has a pension and a part time job which is taxed at source. They are also saying that he has to pay them ÂĢ300 a month for back taxes. He's rung them several times to try and sort this out and has got nowhere. I will be seeing him next week to see what he's got in terms of paperwork and to see if I am prepared to take him on as a client. There's something not quite right about this as people don't get sent tax returns for self employment for no good reason. Either he has confused HMRC with what he has been saying or HMRC think he's doing work on the side and not declaring it. Judging by the way he talked to me I think it more likely to be that he has just confused them.

Ever think someone is watching over you? I certainly do; I left half my lunch (it wasn't that nice today anyway) and decided to go sit in my car to relax before coming back to work. Just as i climbed in and was telling myself to relax, a dear friend called me. She was my grandmothers neighbour and is honestly a very wonderful person. A 10 minute chat with her has snapped me out of my worries and I feel good again! Bramble will be ok at work, even if we have teething troubles, we'll deal with them and she will get used to her routine. I in turn, will get used to having her here. Together, we will be alright Joyron, I used to be self employed (and may well be so again before the years end) and I hated tax returns! I'm very organised with bookkeeping and money, but I still dreaded that time of year. I think the tax office seem so official and serious, and to be honest, quite intimidating sometimes. Thank goodness hubby has you to step in, and it will always get worked out anyway so I do hope you're not worrying too much El, I'm sure you can easily sort out the confusion with this potential new client, it sounds to me like he just needs some clarification and a bit of direction I hope all the baby frogs leaping around out there are happy in their new homes

I have no doubts that you will.

In answer to your first question, yes I do get the feeling that someone is watching over me - and I'm glad your prayer was answered.

Your grandmother's neighbour sounds like a lovely lady.

There's always room in your life for someone like that, Summer.

That's lovely Summer and I'm glad your prayer was answered.

I've got the new phone up and running and my grandsons are really pleased because as well as free phone calls to me they can now phone each other and their mum completely for free, it's a great scheme.  Is there an app to download for this site?  I seem to remember someone saying there was a while ago.

To the new lilac phone.

I think there is an app - Summer will probably know.

There is definitely an iphone/ipad app, so I would think that there is one for the blackberry, too.

I'm glad your BiL is a bit better, Ros. It must be a difficult time for your SiL, too.

Your comment about reading multiple books at the same time, reminded me of my youth, when I often had three books on the go - one for downstairs, one for the bedroom and one for the train journey on my way to work. My dad thought I was nuts.

I still do it

Sorry to hear that, Ros.  I hope today will be better for you.

Were you at choir practice last night, what are you working on atm?

Good morning everyone. Sunshine and showers are forecast for today.

Mr Yogi has managed to get a lift to work today, so I have my car back - garden centre, here I come!

Hubby contacted the insurance company yesterday, for an update on his car repairs. He was not a happy bunny when he was told it wasn't even in the repair centre. After voicing his displeasure, he was told he is now "a priority". We shall see.

Good morning everyone

Squiggle, I'm fairly certain that the app for this forum is just for iPhone. I've done a quick search on the Social Strata site and no indication that Blackberry is supported - Lori may know otherwise.

Here, there was rain early morning. It's dry but cloudy at present but very heavy thundery showers are expected for much of the day. Luckily I don't need to go out today. Today looks to be the wettest of this present spell but showers are forecast every day until early May,

I hope everyone is having a good morning, it's raining here now. Skylark- how are you feeling today?

Well done Bramble.

I wish I could say the same for Keira when she goes to the vets.

I hope Skylark's absence doesn't mean she is still feeling unwell.

Yes, Summer - thanks . After February and March being quiet months workwise, I'm fairly busy now. At present I'm working on the accounts for the client who lives out in the middle of nowhere. I'm doing it earlier than in the last 2 years so that I can have greater flexibility for the June/August time when I tend to be busiest.

Thanks for your help about an app for the Blackberry, it was just a thought and not something I think I would really use.

Happy hunting at the garden centre Yogi.

Got a chilli plant, a gardening book, some sunflower seeds for the birds, some Yankee candles, some potting compost and a pretty notebook.

I planted some sweet pea seeds recently and they are doing well. They are in my hall atm but I'll soon be able to plant them outside.

Good planning, El.

I agree, good planning El I hope it's a less hectic way of working for you this summer Yogi, your day sounds great, what scent Yankee candles did you get?! My MIL has just rang, she's bought another dog crate for me to keep at work, so I don't have to keep collapsing the one here and transporting it. How thoughtful I'm taking bramble to work on Monday

^^^^That was kind of her.

I bought some Clean Cotton and some Fluffy Towel wax tarts and some Clean Cotton candles.
