Didnt see any shoes that suited so came back with a new shower curtain, no difference ! So have been cleaning the bathroom and new curtain is up.
Yes how does that work El? x

Remind me not to go shoe shopping with you.

Glad all is well with your son. I suppose you should be grateful to get a text at all - even if it was short and sweet.

*waits with Summer and Skylark for El's reply*

The virtual Shine balloon race is all done on their computers. They have a website which if you want to you can change the appearance and size of the  "balloon" you've bought in the couple of weeks before the balloons are "launched". As from the day of the "launch" they put a video of the launch on their website. The launch can be anywhere around the world. The most recent one and the one my balloon was in was launched from Rome at the Colosseum. Once the balloons are launched you can track the progress of the balloon to see where they travel and how far they get. There are pointers for the balloons on the map which you can move around and soom in rather like Google maps.

Because the majority of balloons are not altered by the purchasers, they are generally just little plain blue balloons so I'm not bothering to post a link for you to see this as it's not very interesting. In the race mine was in, the winning balloon "travelled" 235 miles.

The winner of each race gets a crate of wine as their present.

I always donate and wear my daffodil. The Marie Curie nurses do a wonderful job and are a very worthy charity, IMO.

Thank you for the link, El. I hadn't heard of it before.

Skylark, just be aware that the cost of even half a balloon is ÂĢ50. Shine also has an online shop (things like mugs and t shirts) and ordinary donations.

Link to their Support Us page

Besides spina bifida, Shine also supports those with hydrocephalus (water on the brain).

I'll keep an eye out for the Marie Curie appeal though they don't have a hospice in Gloucestershire. The local equivalent is a Sue Ryder home in Cheltenham.

Yes, the balloon races are aimed at businesses which is why they are more expensive. I think some businesses could put their logo on a virtual balloon as a sort of advertisment. Shine accepts donations of any size though via that link I posted above,

Evening everyone.    I always wear my daffodil with pride each year.  The Marie Curie nurses came to our rescue when we were having a really hard time when Hubby's father was in the last stages of bowel cancer.  They stayed with him all night and sent his wife into our house to get a good nights sleep (something she had not done in many a long night).  They were wonderful and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their help.

Joyron
Skylark I like your new avi I donated to the marie curie fund just last week a very worthy charity. Lol at your sons text El thanks for the balloon info, that sounds like jolly good fun! Expensive, but fun. I would want a multicoloured Easter bunny shaped balloon! Had a busy day, and a lovely bath after. I really dislike washing my hair lately, it's having to dry it etc.. I like the summer time when I can let it dry on its own.

Good morning everyone

Summer, I like your idea of an Easter bunny shaped balloon

I find when I dry my hair that 1 minute with a bath towel followed by 1 minute with a dryer does it.

It's raining here, but fairly light rain. Heavy rain is expected tomorrow - the first for quite some time and it should help a bit with the most drought affected areas.

Good morning everyone, the wind is just picking up and we are threatened with rain later.  It's been nice to have a bit of sunshine though I opened the sun roof on the car on Wednesday because when we got back to the car it was hot in there in February

I like the Easter Bunny balloon, to join in with the race sounds rather expensive though but the money goes to a very worthy cause.

We start posting about balloons here, and what happens - we get a Superb Balloons advert appearing at the top right hand side.

I quite often get an advert appearing from Forbes - saying if I have a ÂĢ250,000 portfolio and am approaching retirement to down load their advice. Apart from having a few years to go before I retire, I may have quite a decent nest egg of savings, but quite a long way short of ÂĢ250,000. (unless any of you know otherwise )

Good morning everyone Damp and foggy here, it rained all night too I dreamed I was a secret agent with a crazy mission, I had Harry potters invisibility cape too I think that dream stems from my watching Pan Am, one of the stewardesses is a secret agent. I hope you're all having a lovely Saturday El, that Easter bunny balloon is fabulous I quite fancy decorating my house for Easter now

Good that your colleague turned up and no hangover.

Weather was too wet here for a walk, I presume it was dry in your area?

Son and DiL are happy with their decorating - son is pretty handy and a bit of a perfectionist.

I do miss Harvey when he goes home (so does Keira). He's such a big, bouncy, friendly labrador, you can't help loving him.

I've had a nice bath, put on my PJs, then remembered my youngest son is late home from work tonight - I'll need to throw on some trousers to go pick him up later.

Yogi19
Put some trousers on over your pj's! I always do that if mr summer needs picking up Do you know what time he wants picking up? It started off a rotten day here, but it cleared this afternoon and was lovely when I got in, the sun was setting as we finished our walk. Oh, I must tell you this.. We saw a lady with a small dog, it was wearing a brightly coloured coat with a jigsaw pattern. I told her I liked it, and it turns our her friend made it, aaaand it's reversible, the other side is a lady bug pattern
