I hope you now have a nice, golden tan, Summer.
Off for a read before bed. Goodnight, speak to you tomorrow.
Ros, hope all is well with you and we manage to synchronise our forum visits very soon.
Goodnight Velvet.
aww so do I - night yogi - been busy this week - so late on and night for everybody
EL - the lady vicar came into school today
Good morning everyone
Yogi, I hope all goes well with the MOT today
Skylark, I hope you enjoy the film today. It's got a good cast but I think that the advert claiming it's got the best cast ever for a British film is a bit of an an overstatement. It's based on Deborah Moggach's book "These Foolish Things".
Ros, did the lady vicar seem OK or a bit indifferent?
It's very foggy this morning and no sign that it will clear. Take care driving if anyone else here has fog.
On the BBC website I've seen a picture of a triceratops dinosaur - it's worth looking at it to see what you make of it
We are not allowed to post BBC pictures here, so here's a link.
Good morning everyone, that Triceratops looks very fierce EL but they were herbivores weren't they?
Hope all goes smoothly with the MOT Yogi, I am sure it will sail through. You may remember that my eldest grandson broke the electric windows on mine grabbing quickly for the switch when he saw a friend and wanted to shout something at him. Well they managed to fix them and the engineer recommended that I shut off the power to the back ones so I have done that and now I am the only one who can work the windows
Morning xx
Hope all goes well with the MOT Yogi x
Son arrived safely , thank goodness. Feel a bit tired to be honest, but dont want to let my sister down, she is looking forward to the cinema. Will enjoy it when i get there, i hope ! Thanks El, will let you know what we think of it.
Probably wont be back on today, so have a good one all
Squiggle, you are right - the triceraops was a herbivore. To me that picture looks almost as if an owl is sitting on top of its head - possibly because there is a photo of a night owl on the right hand side of that page
That's exactly what it looked like to me too EL
Skylark glad your son arrived safely, hope you enjoy the film, can you get some rest tomorrow?
Oh me too or at least don't snore!
Summer EL will probably correct me but surely the colours they show for the dinosaurs are just someone's imaginings? We have no way of knowing I would have thought.
Squiggle, that's my assumption as well. I can't see how anyone can tell what the exact colours were on dinosaurs. If you do a Google seatch on images for triceratops, most of the results seem to be grey or green, it's just this particular image where the artist has gone particularly colourful.
My brother admitted to me that on two occasions he went to the cinema and fell asleep during the films. I think they were two of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies
I don't blame your brother EL, we tried to watch a Pirates of the Caribbean on the TV and lasted about 10 minutes.
Good afternoon everyone.
I've had a busy morning and need to go out again in a few minutes. It's one of those days.
Glad to say the car passed its MOT with flying colours. I can rest easy for another year.
Skylark, I hope you enjoy the film - and I hope you manage to stay awake.
Got to dash off again, will be back later.
Good news Yogi, interesting that our cars are due for MOT's virtually at the same time, hopefully we can calm each other's nerves each year
Yogi, good news about your car
Thanks El.

We can hold hands.
It's so silly though this whole MOT angst. I saw a car a while ago in Barnstaple which was brown not because it had been painted that but because of RUST. There were ruddy great holes in the bodywork etc. I am only guessing here but do you know I reckon it didn't hold a valid MOT. I wonder if he goes far in it?
Well signing off to read soon, so catch up again tomorrow.

Probably wasn't insured either.
Catch up with you tomorrow, enjoy your book.
Signing out now. Goodnight all.
Summer and Ros, hope you've had a good day.
Good morning everyone
It's foggy here - (the weather that is, not this thread )
Squiggle, I think you could be right in that I doubt if a really rusty car could pass a MOT. Could have been on its way to a banger stock car race.
Good morning everyone. Weather is a bit overcast this morning.
I hope the fog clears soon, El.
Summer, I'm glad you are happy at Glee's return - do you sing along?
Morning everyone xx
Had a nice morning lying in bed watching Judge Judy! What a woman, she doesnt miss a trick. My daughter on nursery duty today !
Enjoyed the film, it was a bit predictable and a few tired old jokes but easy watching. My sister got some doritos and dips, we ate them as quietly as we could, why do they sell "noisy" food in cinemas??
Good news about the MOT Yogi
Off to the shops, a local shoe shop having a sale, see if i can pick up a bargain.
See you all later xx
Yogi, the fog has virtually lifted now
Skylark, I'm glad you enjoyed the film. There's nothing wrong with films being a bit predictable and unoriginal as long as they are entertaining and you are in the mood for such a film. The directod John Madden is best known for hits like Mrs Brown and Shakespeare in Love and came a cropper with Captain Corelli's Mandolin. His next film he's supposedly making according to IMDB will raise a few eyebrows amongst Mrs Whitehouse's supporters as it's a drama about Masters and Johnson.
Good morning everyone, brightening up here after a very foggy start. Glad you enjoyed the film Skylark, I have my eye on it for when it pops up on Sky it looks my sort of film. Hope you get a bargain.
That will raise a few eyebrows El!
Right off now, bye x
Skylark, I agree with Squiggle, I think the film might be one I'd like - I'm a big fan of Judi Dench.
Re noisy food in cinemas - when we were young and mum and dad took us to the cinema, my dad wouldn't allow us to eat crisps or sweets with rustling wrappers. He likes to watch his films in peace and quiet. We were allowed ice cream and "quiet" goodies.
Summer, I'm a bit of a weepy type too - happy tears, as well as sad ones.
El, a film about Masters and Johnson should get people talking.
Note to anyone who fills coconut shells with melted lard and seed mixture for the birds: make sure the lard is starting to go solid again before putting it into the shells - otherwise it just oozes out through the shell.

I confess that I don't put food out for the birds because my next door neighbour but one has 6 cats.

Six cats! In that case, you are probably wise not to encourage the birds, El.
Keira (and Harvey) chase cats, so thankfully they tend to avoid my garden.
Once a year the same woman rings me from the spina bifida charity now called Shine to ask if I would donate money via a Balloon race. I've supported them this way for many years - although there is a prize for the balloon which goes furthest, I have yet to win but that doesn't matter. The money is going to a good cause and it is the charity which runs the race, not some 3rd party - all the money goes to the charity.
I immediately recognise the woman when she rings as she has a very attractive husky voice rather like the actress Joan Greenwood.
I was a bit surprised when she rang as I had only just done my bit in the last couple of weeks. As soon as she started speaking to me she realised she had made a mistake and said that she was a figment of my imagination . She will ring me again much later in the year.
By the way, the Shine Balloon races are no longer real but are virtual as Shine does not want to damage the environment.
Yes squiggle and Yogi, i am sure you would enjoy the film, and Joyron too. Not so much a man,s film IMO El. Summer, you may enjoy it too but i felt is was more for us slightly older laydees
Didnt see any shoes that suited so came back with a new shower curtain, no difference ! So have been cleaning the bathroom and new curtain is up.
Yes how does that work El? x
