Thanks squiggle x
Nana, of course paying, but not having it, so my sister and myself putting in too x
Family calls so will say goodnight x
Hope you have had a lovely day El, and have a lovely evening
Have a good evening with your family Skylark tomorrow the car goes in for a service and MOT so considering the car is now 23 years old I hope all goes well. I cleaned her thoroughly inside and out today so she will look her best when the mechanics have to inspect her, I would feel I was unfair to her if I didn't do it! Am I silly?
Going to sign off now, hope everyone has a good evening and sleeps well, night night and hope you had a lovely birthday EL
Squiggle, we always clean our cars thoroughly before they go for their MOTs, so no I don't think you're being silly.
Goodnight Skylark and Squiggle.
Decided to have an early night too, so goodnight all.
Hugs for Ros and Summer.
and from me night everybody
night yogi
Good morning everyone. Weather is a bit milder today, with some drizzle.
Took son to the station this morning, but the train had left early. Son would never consider going to the station a few minutes early, in anticipation of this scenario. The next train doesn't get him into work on time, so I had to dash him down to the next town, where he could catch the express train which does get him into work on time. His GF says I spoil him - I think she's right!
El, I hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday.
Squiggle, good luck with the MOT today.
Good morning everyone
Thanks again everyone - I had a nice day yesterday.
Squiggle, I hope all goes well with the MOT today and that there are no nasty shocks
I had an email yesterday evening from an unknown source with a link saying that it was a card sent to me. It didn't show up as spam but because it was from a stranger and the wording of the message was a bit odd (part of it read "I made t his special card' for y: ou") I have taken the precaution of deleting it rather than following the link.
Good morning everyone, a mild yet soggy day here. EL I think that was very wise of you, I don't open anything I am not sure of and certainly never open attachments from those I don't know.
Morning x
You have had a busy morning Yogi ! Your son is lucky to have such a good mum x
Good luck with the MOT squiggle x
Got things to catch up with today, have a good one all
Yogi, that was bad of your son's tain leaving early - others must have missed it as well. Well done on taking him to the next station so he could catch the express.
Summer, sounds as if your friend's email address has been used by someone sending out spam messages. He will probably find that others on his address book have received the same as you.
That's exactly what Mr Yogi would have done.
Good morning, Skylark.
A medal for Yogi, for exemplary service
Squiggle. I have been saying for years. that I'm going to get one of those neon TAXI signs for the top of my car.
Summer, maybe your friend was sleep-emailing - it would explain the random letters and numbers
Actually, there is such a thing - link to a Telegraph article about this.
I saw University Challenge yesterday and in one of the picture rounds was this painting by Guiseppe Arcimbaldo. It's called The Librarian and remarkably enough it was painted in the 1560s.
This is another one of his paintings:
Interesting paintings and certainly unusual style for the 1560's.
Monet or Constable are more my taste.

I agree with you - I posted them not because I like them but because they are so strange.
Also on University Challenge in the music round was an extract from Jean Sibelius's Karelia Suite from the Intermezzo movement. Sibelius was probably the most important classical composer to come from Finland and this clip is accompanied with photos from there.
After a fairly slow start it builds up to one of the most memorable themes ever used on television - This Week.
Interesting paintings EL, they are strange in a fascinating way but I wouldn't like them hanging on my wall.
Car's not back yet and haven't heard a word oh well I suppose I will find out more in the morning.

They say that no news is good news.
Fingers crossed, Squiggle.
I'm going to sign off, it has been a bit of a tiring day. Have a good evening everyone, speak to you tomorrow.

Goodnight Squiggle.
Goodnight everyone, off to bed.
Night owl hugs.
night yogi and squiggle -
night everybody
EL - I absolutely LOVE those paintings by arcimbaldo - fantastic and strangely fascinating
Good morning everyone
Squiggle, I hope you get good news this morning about your car
Summer, that's good news about your yoga class restarting
Good morning everyone. It's another mild and reasonably sunny morning here today.
Glad to had a good birthday El Loro. I was thinking the other day, your brother often comes to visit you but do you ever go down to London to stay with him?
Hope you get good news on the MOT this morning Squiggle. My car is due for it's MOT at the end of March, but the car is only four years old so I'm not expecting any problems (fingers crossed now I've said that).
Yogi, you deserve a medal for running you son about in your "taxi". Good morning Summer, Skylark and Rosgirl. Hope you all have a good day.
Sorry I've not been about much but have been rather busy in RL. Got a busy weekend coming up too!!
Will get back when I can.
Joyron, my brother comes to visit me rather than me visit him. It's because of a number of reasons such as my church commitments, I have a larger house, I have the computer adventure games which we play, his heating is provided by night storage heaters which means it's warmer at hight time than day time and really it's better the other war. Also he travels by train which is cheaper than driving there - if he comes here we have access to my car, if I went there by train we wouldn't as he doesn't drive.
Good morning everyone.
Summer, that's good news about your yoga class - much better than the one where nobody speaks to each other.
Joyron Hope you get some time to relax at the weekend.
Got a lot to do this morning but I'll be back later.
Good morning everyone, it's a lovely morning here and I can see a hint of new green on the trees so Spring is definitely just around the corner.
Wonderful news about the yoga class Summer, it will be lovely catching up with all your old friends again. I can see why it makes much more sense for your brother to visit you instead of the other way round EL, glad you had a good birthday by the way. Talking of which it would have been my hubby's birthday today, he was a Leap Year Baby.
Car's back and as far as I can tell it seems to have sailed through the MOT, they are going to post me the new certificate but they have certainly not reported any problems and the only things they mention was a change of oil and a new oil filter A big weight off my mind especially as I had promised to run my daughter into Barnstaple later on.
Squiggle, good news about your car
I was almost a Leap Year baby as well - 2 days later and I would now only be a quarter of the age I am now and would still be at school
Morning everyone x
Well done with the car squiggle xx
Just being checking euro rates son is off to a 21st tomorrow in Amsterdam. Not much difference, so will just go to the place i went before, its nearer too!
back later, have a good day all x
I've just submitted my gas and electricity meter readings. The main bill is the gas one and it's 20% more expensive than this time last year - that's due to the price increases rather than greater usage. Having said that I'm still paying less than the national averahe household.
If you want to see OFGEM's charts on gas and electicity prices have a look at this link.
