Have a good evening with your family Skylark tomorrow the car goes in for a service and MOT so considering the car is now 23 years old I hope all goes well.  I cleaned her thoroughly inside and out today so she will look her best when the mechanics have to inspect her, I would feel I was unfair to her if I didn't do it!   Am I silly?

Going to sign off now, hope everyone has a good evening and sleeps well, night night and hope you had a lovely birthday EL

Good morning everyone. Weather is a bit milder today, with some drizzle.

Took son to the station this morning, but the train had left early.  Son would never consider going to the station a few minutes early, in anticipation of this scenario. The next train doesn't get him into work on time, so I had to dash him down to the next town, where he could catch the express train which does get him into work on time. His GF says I spoil him - I think she's right!

El, I hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday.

Squiggle, good luck with the MOT today.

Good morning everyone

Thanks again everyone - I had a nice day yesterday.

Squiggle, I hope all goes well with the MOT today and that there are no nasty shocks

I had an email yesterday evening from an unknown source with a link saying that it was a card sent to me. It didn't show up as spam but because it was from a stranger and the wording of the message was a bit odd (part of it read "I made t his special card' for y: ou") I have taken the precaution of deleting it rather than following the link.

Good morning all A busy start for me at work, I dare say the lovely weather has a part to play in that though it very mild, and partially overcast with sunny spells, it's lovely I too had a strange e mail yesterday, it's from a a friend who doesn't e mail me (he would text or send a message on FB) and the message title had a series of numbers and letters. I thought it odd so didn't even open it, I deleted it

That's exactly what Mr Yogi would have done.

Good morning, Skylark.

Also on University Challenge in the music round was an extract from Jean Sibelius's Karelia Suite from the Intermezzo movement. Sibelius was probably the most important classical composer to come from Finland and this clip is accompanied with photos from there.

After a fairly slow start it builds up to one of the most memorable themes ever used on television - This Week.

El those paintings certainly are unusual, and peculiar, I don't think I would buy one that's for sure. The amount of detail in them is still impressive though Squiggle I hope you get some news in the morning, waiting is frustrating I went for a lovely swim tonight, followed by a sauna session and then... Had a text from my former yoga teacher informing me that the class is starting up again I'm thrilled!!!! for skylark & joyron Sweet dreams all, sleep well

Good morning everyone.    It's another mild and reasonably sunny morning here today.

Glad to had a good birthday El Loro.  I was thinking the other day, your brother often comes to visit you but do you ever go down to London to stay with him?

Hope you get good news on the MOT this morning Squiggle.  My car is due for it's MOT at the end of March, but the car is only four years old so I'm not expecting any problems (fingers crossed now I've said that).

Yogi, you deserve a medal for running you son about in your "taxi".  Good morning Summer, Skylark and Rosgirl.  Hope you all have a good day.

Sorry I've not been about much but have been rather busy in RL.  Got a busy weekend coming up too!!

Will get back when I can.

Joyron

Joyron, my brother comes to visit me rather than me visit him. It's because of a number of reasons such as my church commitments, I have a larger house, I have the computer adventure games which we play, his heating is provided by night storage heaters which means it's warmer at hight time than day time and really it's better the other war. Also he travels by train which is cheaper than driving there - if he comes here we have access to my car, if I went there by train we wouldn't as he doesn't drive.

Good morning It's very overcast today, I'm not sure what the weather will do El, it's understandable why your brother comes to yours more often, you have to do what makes it a pleasant visit. People often ask me why I don't get the train to my mum's when I visit, because it's a 5 hour drive. But the train only gets me within 11 miles of my mum's, I'd then have to get a bus and we would have to rely on buses that are infrequent & expensive.. It's much much easier to just drive and then have the car available to go places and visit my friends who are spread around the county..

Good morning everyone, it's a lovely morning here and I can see a hint of new green on the trees so Spring is definitely just around the corner.

Wonderful news about the yoga class Summer, it will be lovely catching up with all your old friends again.  I can see why it makes much more sense for your brother to visit you instead of the other way round EL, glad you had a good birthday by the way.  Talking of which it would have been my hubby's birthday today, he was a Leap Year Baby.

Car's back and as far as I can tell it seems to have sailed through the MOT, they are going to post me the new certificate but they have certainly not reported any problems and the only things they mention was a change of oil and a new oil filter   A big weight off my mind especially as I had promised to run my daughter into Barnstaple later on.

I've just submitted my gas and electricity meter readings. The main bill is the gas one and it's 20% more expensive than this time last year - that's due to the price increases rather than greater usage. Having said that I'm still paying less than the national averahe household.

If you want to see OFGEM's charts on gas and electicity prices have a look at this link.
