Good morning everyone. Weather is a bit brighter today, not so wet and windy.

For the past few years I have unsuccessfully tried to grow snowdrops from bulbs, in my garden. The stalks always grew but no flower heads. So this year, I decided to try to grow them in tubs and it has worked! I now have two tubs with green stalks and little white heads, in bud. I am a happy bunny.

Thank you everyone I particularly appreciate the life times supply of pancakes El, I did once eat them for 10 consecutive days! The only reason I stopped then was because I couldn't be bothered to mix up another batch of mixture and start cooking, I must have been tired that day lol I too love snowdrops and absolutely love it when they come into bloom! my great grandmother, who was also our neighbour, had a brilliant showing in her front garden. I planted some last year and am hoping that in about 5 years they will look good Sweet dreams squiggle

El, I loved the clip of the doggies in the snow.

Squiggle, I love snowdrops. When they are in bloom, I'll post a pic (or get youngest son to do it).

Ros, love the dog making the birthday wishes, that's exactly what Keira would wish for, too.

Morning everyone.    Rather grey here this morning at the moment although we are supposed to see some sunshine today.

Sorry I missed the chance to wish you happy birthday yesterday Summer.    It sounds as though you had a great weekend, although far too many cakes than is good for you!!

I have a small patch of snowdrops in full flower in my garden and they make me feel really good.  I don't remember when they were planted but they come up year after year despite what the weather throws at them!!

Have a good day everyone, whatever you are up to.

good morning everyone It's bright and clear but frosty & cold here I much prefer this to grey drizzly days though. Thank you joyron I had a lovely birthday, and do eat too many cakes than is good for me I need to stop it now too, I'm not over weight but I wish I ate a better balanced diet! Skylark, good luck with your meeting, I hope it goes well Have I told you that I'm preparing to decorate our 2nd bedroom..? I can't remember if I mentioned it last week, but I'm very excited. One of the lovely things about it all, is that having been given money & next vouchers for my birthday, the cost of redecorating is dramatically reduced, I'm very grateful for all these gifts. Now I just need time to actually perform the makeover, I'm a little busy this next week.. *leaves slice of cake for everyone* tuck in tuck in

Thank you for the cake Summer delicious and these virtual cakes have absolutely no calories and do not upset even the most delicate tummies

How exciting planning a decorating scheme and with the cost greatly reduced.  Are you going for wallpaper, paint or a mixture of the two?  And what are your colours, I love the planning stage and then seeing it all come together.

It's chocolate cake squiggle, hope that's ok! I've known for 2 years that I want a white/pink/green spring time style bedroom, but haven't found the right items to make it happen until now. I'm going for just paint, in a very light green. It has to have a warm tone though. The curtains & bedding are white with pink roses on. They're a little brighter than pastel but much milder than bold. The accessories are what will really bring the room to life, they can be bold or bright or heavier patterns. Hang on, let me see if I can add some links.. This should lead you to the curtains & bedding.. http://www.next.co.uk/x493186s1#833044x49

That is so pretty Summer, and some of my favourite colours.  When my daughter was small we did her room in apple green and pink, it looked lovely.  And this is my bedding .   The last room I decorated was my bedroom which is cream and pink and very restful with cream lace curtains (I was thrilled when I found those they were just what I wanted).

Thank you squiggle, and I love your bedding! I adore the vintage look to both our styles I've just been researching curtain poles too, I'm going for brushed white, wooden poles from b&q Mr summer & I put ÂĢ10 each a week into a "house fund" which we use for decorating, repairs, anything house related. I've calculated I'll only need to use it for paint and curtain poles, so it shouldn't get too depleted on this occasion

A couple of weeks ago, Kim Novak the actress famous for her role in Vertigo went ballistic when she discovered that the film The Artist had used some of the music from Vertigo. Of course it's common practice for films to borrow music from other films. Bernard Hermann wrote the music for Vertigo and the Radio 4 news programme PM got in touch with his widow. Although she hadn't been approached for permission she was fairly relaxed about it and thought that Kim Novak had overreacted. She may get some royalties now from the producers of The Artist.

Anyway, Radio 4 took Bernard Hermann's widow to see The Artist. She said beforehand that she hadn't been to the cinema this century and if she didn't like it she might walk out. Afterwards she said that after 15 minutes she had been inclined to walk out of the film. If she had been watching it on television she would have switched channels. She stuck with it, and changed her mind - she loved the film. Absolutely wonderful, charming and she wants that dog - she's got to have that dog NOW
