There are some nice people out there, glad you had a good day.

Keira gets pressies from everyone (as does Harvey, who is here on a sleepover tonight).

Keira loves to open her pressies, she gets really excited. I'll try to get a pic for you on Christmas Day.

yes - since friday - thank you

That's good.

Will you still have work to do during the hols?

yes - reports to do and we have to track anything (pupils) that moves so got to do that as well

That made me smile.

Are you all organised for Christmas? I thought I was but I've got to pick up a gift tomorrow, then I will definitely be finished. Going to do the food shopping too, then I can settle down and enjoy the lead up to the big day (and watch Christmassy films).

Oooo, I'm intrigued! I look forward to hearing all about Ralph.

Goodnight Summer, catch up tomorrow.

I've had my telephone call from son, so I need to get my boots and coat on and go pick him up.

Goodnight for now Ros, hope to catch up with you tomorrow.

good morning I've been awake since 4am It has to be Christmas, I'm too tired to not sleep for any other reason *brews large pot of tea* I'm usually very busy on a normal Thursday, with it being pay day for a lot of people, but seeing as it's Christmas week.. I've got that feeling I'm in for a hard day! I caught up with an episode of living with the Amish at about 5am, they work very hard all the time, they're my inspiration today I hope you all slept well, I know many of you are busy yourselves today with shopping & Christmas prep- good luck and remember to treat yourselves *leaves tea, coffee, juices and a large stack of yogi bear shaped pancakes*

Morning x
Oh yogi bear shaped pancakes, lovely!
Going to tackle the food shopping today . I am going to Tesco its the nearest to me.
I watched The Grumpy Guide to Christmas last night it was  quite funny and i could relate to those in supermarkets who block the aisles chatting with a huge trolley
Have a good day all

Good morning everyone. Dry and mild this morning.

Summer, you were an early bird this morning. It must be all the Christmas excitement.

Thank you for the Yogi Bear pancakes, you have made my day.

El, I'll keep my eyes peeled for one of those bear pancake makers.

Good luck in Tesco, Skylark. I'll think of you when I'm going around Morrisons later today.

Good morning everyone, lovely to catch up all the news in the thread, I want to be a fly on the wall when Keira opens her present.  I am thrilled that you have some time off to look forward to Summer and I hope that all the present buying card sending and food shopping will soon be completed to everyone's complete satisfaction

Thank you for the Yogi pancakes EL, delish!  And here is this for you Yogi

Have a good day everyone, I am doing breadcrumbs today, not the most exciting thing but necessary

I will second that.  It's lovely having all you wonderful people to chat with.

Well I've been to the shops and got everything I need now so I won't have to go out again until the New Year.  My hairdresser will be here at lunchtime to cut and colour my hair so I'll be all posh for the weekend!!

Have a great day whatever you are doing and don't work too hard.

Joyron

Love your pics, squiggle.

Well done with your progress re Christmas, Yogi

I had a phone call this morning from someone who lives in the same road as me not that I know him. His wife has just started a limited company and wants some advice. I'm seeing her tomorrow afternoon. Apart from that, I've done all my business work I had intended to do before the New Year apart from any sudden phone calls etc.

Good morning/afternoon/evening I'm losing track of time & day I spent the first two hours of the day correcting bad mannered children One 6 year old said to me "get your fingers in there and cut the top of my hair now" To which I replied " don't speak to me like that! " and his mum yelled at him to "shut up" how delightful I refused to put a Xmas tree in his hair because "I don't do that for rude or naughty children" I then told him if he behaved himself and sat still while I did his hair, I might put some stars in it for him. Apart from having to tell him once during the cut to not be cheeky to his mother (who looked to be at the end of her wits) he sat very still & quiet, so I did indeed put stars in and thanked him for behaving himself during his haircut. A 4 year old waiting, Interrupted me during a haircut to demand to know how much longer I was going to be! I said "excuuuuuuse me! " and shot a disapproving look, his dad grabbed him quick sharp and scolded him for being rude & impatient! The next two hours were good, lovely polite happy families in Oh the joy lol El, that's kind of you to help your neighbour, I'm pleased you've finished all your other work for everyone else, it's so mild today! *grabs a pancake & dashes*

Summer, you really could do without brats like that

I saw last night's Christmas University Challenge and once again the teams failed miserably in the music round. Of the matches I've seen so far I don't think any of the teams would have a chance against the better teams from the series proper. With the follow up questions which the members of the team can discuss it before giving their answer, too often they are taking far too long to give any answer, and at times I could see Jeremy Paxman getting a bit fed up with them.

One of the music questions was who composed this.

This particular version was somewhat adapted for this film which goes down in history as one of the stranger films to come out of Hollywood in the 1930s, though quite imaginative sets. In case you are wondering the music was composed by Felix Mendelssohn and that's Mickey Rooney as Puck.

I say Yes, yes, yes.  (Pretty please)

Interesting clip EL, gorgeous costumes (which is what I always notice) and Mickey Rooney was quite recognisable.

As you ask so nicely Joyron,
