The big one is fine if I want to spend ages going round looking at lots of plants, pet stuff etc (as I do for the 2-3 hours when Keira is in the groomers), but the small one was great for a shorter visit and a quick cup of coffee - and the staff were really helpful.

I think I read that it did, I don't yet have the TV Guide for Christmas (should be any day now) but I remember reading about it, you know 'Ratings War etc'  still I suppose there's always ITV+1.

Hi Squiggle. I'll probably record Downton and watch it later.

Hi Yogi I suppose it is a struggle for the small independents to survive but its a great shame, you lose the personal touch, and what about the staff?  Either losing your job or further to travel I suppose.

I think that will be their choice, Squiggle.

Good afternoon everyone

Done my shopping this morning, then went to the mince pie and coffee morning - quite busy there today. I generally help out at the end putting the folding chairs and folding tables away. There's normally 4 or 5 people doing that, but today there was just 2. We both started on the chairs and when I put away some tables he carried on with the chairs. When he had finished the chairs he decided to brush bits up from the floor leaving me to deal with the tables. So I landed up by putting all 20 tables away - a personal record

Then dash back home, get lunch, then back out to see a client this afternoon - she could only see me at the weekend.

So I've had quite a busy day.

That would be quite intimidating for anyone. And being Polish, I would think it likely to be vodka they were drinking rather than beer.

Do they do that during the day? Not good.

See you later, Skylark.

Back ,didnt hang around. Yes Yogi it seems to be the way with them, regardless of the weather and i am sure they know its illegal here to drink alcohol in public places. Doesnt help with lidl , just up the road that sell their particular bottles of beer/lager. x

It depends on what they can afford El. They can get 6 bottles of beer from lidl for about ÂĢ3
Anyway, glad you had a good day, although you were busy . Good for you putting all the tables back

I wouldn't like groups of drinkers lurking around either, it is intimidating. It's a shame they have nothing better to do Yogi I'm quite a fast reader, if I'm enjoying a book then I pick it up at every spare moment I can, and with work I'm sometimes sitting around waiting for the next client to come in.. I hope you enjoy the book, I found I didn't want it to end yet, I wanted to spend time with the characters more lol I like it when that happens El, congratulations on your new table moving record My mum's train is delayed so hanging around waiting for it to come in..
~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, I'm thinking about getting in touch with the Guinness book of world records for the number of tables put away

And Cheltenham are through to the next round of the FA Cup which is the one where the big football teams come in. Cheltenham have won their last eight away games which is quite an achievement - but their home record isn't so strong. Next Saturday could be quite a challenge as they are at home to Southend who are the current leaders in Division 2.

I'm sure your achievement deserves a mention, El.

Good luck to Cheltenham in the next round of the FA Cup.

Good morning everyone

The Radio Times issues for 10-16 December went on sale on the 1st, the Christmas double issue for 17-30 December goes on sale nationwide on Wednesday (some people may already be able to get it), the one for 31 December to 6 January goes on sale on the 23rd, then it goes back to normal.

Cooler than yesterday here, a mix of blue sky and cloud. No snow forecast here, but I know it's been snowing in parts of Scotland.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, oh dear snow for Scotland   I hope for all of you north of the border it melts away quickly and doesn't cause you any inconvenience.

Lots of grey cloud here this morning, I see the weather forecast on the BBC page for my area has changed completely this morning from the one they were predicting last night.  Looks like I will need my brolly as I come out of church.

How are we all doing with our Christmas preparations?  I'm halfway through writing the cards and I have got my Christmas slot booked with Sainsburys (they go so fast).
