Good morning everyone.

Loving the dancing reindeers, Squiggle, and glad your eyesight is back to normal.

Skylark, I'm sure your son and his friends will have a great time - he's a sensible lad. Enjoy the Christmas Fayre at your granddaughter's nursery.

Summer, I think I am reading the same Christmas book as you. I only started it this morning though.

Mine is the two in one book, with A Cedar Cove Christmas and Call Me Mrs Miracle (which has a covering title of Falling For Christmas) - and I have Twelve Days Of Christmas waiting in the wings.

I do a bit of shopping at the local Co-op and am a member of their stamp scheme. It's been a long time since I received any stamps - they are sent out in May and November and in the last couple of weeks when I've been there I noticed that customers were using their stamps in part payment. My brother told me a couple of weeks ago that he had just received his and he hardly ever uses the Co-op.

So I've just rung them and it turns out that for some reason a flag had been set on my stamp account which meant that the total due to me was just getting carried forward. They have now removed the flag and in future I will get stamps. In the meantime they will send me a cheque in the next couple of weeks for the balance to date. We're not talking big sums here, but ÂĢ16-75 is still worth getting.

That's ÂĢ16.75 that you could spend on mince pies El it's definitely better in your pocket than in someone else's account I recently changed addresses at last on my tesco club card account- its been 4 years since I moved! I wasn't expecting much because when we do our shopping we use mr summer's club card, it's only if I happen to pick up a few bits on my own that I actually use my card. I was pleased to discover I had ÂĢ35 to spend! But not so pleased to discover that the new tenant of my old house has recently spent ÂĢ24 of my vouchers I thought it very cheeky, but it's my own fault for leaving it for 4 years, aaaand he could have easily spent the whole lot! I personally would not open someone else's mail, I would bin it or mark it as "not known at this address" Squiggle, that link isn't working for me, what's the book called?
~Sparkling Summer~

El, it's a good job you phoned up about the Co-op stamps, but I wonder how long they would have allowed them to accrue, before sending them to you.

The ÂĢ16.75 is better in your pocket than theirs.

Summer, the book Squiggle mentioned is A Season To Remember by Sheila O'Flanagan.

I can't believe that someone opened your mail and stole your Tesco vouchers. Whatever way you look at it, it is theft.

Summer, as Yogi says, that is theft

Yogi, I have no idea how long they would have left it to accrue - probably for ever as it would be all computer controlled. I think though that most people would have eventually rung them to ask where their stamps were. I'm just glad that the stamps didn't get lost in the post and that the Co-op seem to be fair with this.

Good news about that money, I wish you pleasure in spending it, as Tesco says every little helps, especially at Christmas!   I am glad that you found some money on your club card Summer but what a cheek that new tenant has, well done you for being so understanding about it

That book is called 'A Season To Remember' Summer - here's the blurb

An enchanting collection of warm, poignant and Christmas-themed stories from the Sunday Times No. 1 bestselling author

For the perfect Christmas getaway, join the guests at the luxurious Sugar Loaf Lodge... A heartbroken visitor tries to forget the past; a stressed couple long for peace and quiet; a young woman eagerly anticipates a romantic night with the man she loves - although he should be spending it with somebody else. Meanwhile, the hotel's owners are determined to make this a holiday to remember. But will everyone's Christmas wishes come true?

For anyone intending to change their avatar to a Christmas one, Scotty and I have found a serious bug.

At present if you try to upload a GIF image, this will fail and you will get an error message.

JPEG images are working correctly.

I've reported this to Lori who has tested this and confirms that it is a bug and has told the tech people.

Going to put a few votes in for Mark and Dougie , Yogi
Have a nice evening all , goodnight

You'll be able to relax (a bit) now that you know son has landed safely.

I agree, a few votes for Dougie and Mark may be required.

Enjoy your evening with your daughter, it will be nice for you to have some chill out time together.

That's good, El.

You just caught me.

Baz and I like to cheer on Harry on SCD, too.

Might try to do some more Christmas shopping tomorrow and then a visit to my favourite little garden centre on Sunday (it's closing down soon).

Have a lovely weekend, goodnight Summer.

Just me and the dog, perfick

Sounds like you are having a nice peaceful time Skylark, just what you need

As regards the Christmas stuff I know there are 2 films I definitely want to record, The King's Speech and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and some of the other things clash - Downton with Strictly, and there's nothing worse than not having enough space and having to panic at the last minute.

Good afternoon everyone. Wet and windy here today - and it's an icy wind. Brrrrrrrrrrrr

Summer, hope your mum has a lovely five days with you.

I think you deserve a nice pastry after all your cleaning, Skylark.

El, it was also our church Christmas Coffee Morning today. I wasn't able to go as I was meeting middle son, but I'm sure there would have been some mince pies on offer, too.

Squiggle, the little garden centre is now part of a chain. They have opened a huge garden centre approx 12 miles away and now seem to be closing the smaller ones in the area. I liked the smaller one, it had a nice, friendly atmosphere and was closer to me too.
