T'was a good show.
I'm going to sign out now, hope everyone has had a good day and is fully recharged ready for tomorrow Night night everyone, hugs for the night owls.
Goodnight Squiggle, see you tomorrow.
Goodnight Summer, I'm off now too.
Goodnight Ros and Velvet.
night Yogi squiggle summer and velvet
summer - watch the 'orrible stuff in mute
Good morning everyone
I don't watch that jungle show so don't know what made yesterday's edition even more horrid than normal - I'm not sure that I want to know either - the mind boggles as to some of the things they come up with.
It's less windy today here, it's dry but only 3 C outside. The rest of the week looks like it's going to be cold and stormy for all of us with temperatures below average by the end of the week (but temperatures recover in the following week).
Good morning everyone. Weather is wet and windy again. I hope it's better, wherever you are.
Good morning everyone, very cloudy here but dry atm with rain for later.
Goodness gracious I tape that horrid jungly show, what have I in wait for me? I'll get behind the sofa
Thank you Summer the book is lovely as usual, she is such a clever writer, you really get involved. I closed the book last night thinking that I wanted to punch on the nose a particularly mean character but the thing I love about Maeve Binchy is she doesn't judge her characters she just presents them, some lovely some not so lovely, just like real life I suppose.
Squiggle, I started reading the Lilac Bus last night, and you were right, I do like Maeve's style of writing.
I know I said I wait a few weeks before ordering any more books, but I couldn't wait and have ordered The Copper Beech and The Glass Lake.
Just a quick hello to you all
Busy with stuff , will explain later elsewhere.
I have read The Copper Beech Yogi its good.
Oh and i have a black Christmas tree
Chat soon, hopefully, bye for now xxx

Wonderful Yogi I am reading Minding Frankie at the moment which is up to her usual standard.
I talked to a friend this morning and found out that she has never read a Maeve Binchy book so I said I would lend her one of my mine and I chose The Copper Beech, I know she will love it. I also couldn't resist getting her Call Me Mrs Miracle which I have had to order on Amazon coming from the States, I do hope it arrives before Christmas, they had one bookstore in England that stocked it but it was 3 times the price.
The Glass Lake is what I took into the hospital with me when I had my mastectomy. It saw me through. I wrote to Maeve afterwards to let her know how much it had meant to me and she very kindly wrote back, a lovely lovely person.

That was nice of her, Squiggle.
I'm not familiar with Maeve Binchy's writing but she is Irish and I think you can tell from her face that she is a friendly and caring person. She was also a teacher for a time.
They say we get the face that shows how we have lived, and I think her face proves this - as do her books, a wise and caring lady.

Looks more like she's been saying "ohhh yes"on TV a lot.
Another film which is opening soon looks interesting, Hugo. At first glance it looks as if it is another U certificate 3D childrens film, and it is, but not a typical one. It's based on the book "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" and is about a 12 year old orphan who lives in the walls of a Paris railway station in 1930, and a mystery relating to him, his late father and a robot. But it is also a film about films for people who love films.
There's quite a few well known people in it such as Ben Kingsley as Georges Melies (he was a major film pioneer in the very very early days) and in the trailer you will see that the station master who is chasing after the boy is Sacha Baron Cohen. There's also Chrisopher Lee, Ray Winstone, Jude Law, so quite a few British actors.
This is the trailer for the film which is receiving rave reviews in the States where it opened on Thanksgiving Day.
What makes this stand out is that the film is directed by Martin Scorcese so is clearly a radical departure from anything he has done before. And this is a film for adults and well as children. Needless to say, this is a film which I am temped to go and see.

No she doesn't, she looks very nice.
I do like the Churchill adverts though.
Hugo film sounds interesting, El. Certainly lots of British actors in the cast.

Hi Skylark.

Phew, that's a relief.
"I'll huff and I'll huff and I'll blow your black tree down" - I won't really, it's just the posts about huff which made me think of the three little pigs I'm just going (so no change there)

My sons loved that story.
I can join you
You can come and sit by me, I suffer from foot-in-mouth syndrome.
No lights on a Christmas tree Never Summer! Yes i have pink and lilac baubles, they came with the tree, but i overload it with lots of other baubles. Its nice !
Glad you got your work one sorted, i was in no doubt you would
