You just caught me, Summer.

My middle son came to visit today and the eldest one is coming tomorrow, so it's a family weekend. Washing out the greenhouse tomorrow and settling everything down for the winter.

Enjoy the rest of your evening and speak to you tomorrow.

Good morning everyone.  I agree EL I prefer the first clip, its amazing that that guy can get that beautiful sound from glasses like that, and he is so quick.

Summer I am glad your head won't be hurting this morning, a very sensible attitude Skylark hope you are feeling better this morning. That sounds quite a job washing out the greenhouse Yogi, do you pull all the plants out and use the hose or do it by hand with a bucket and sponge (you can tell I've never had a greenhouse ) A quick hi to Ros and Velvet

Have a good day everyone.

Hello everyone. Another chilly and bright day up here.

Glad you had a nice birthday Skylark, and wish your sister a Happy 50th Birthday too.

Squiggle, it's a sponge and bucket job in the greenhouse. I may postpone it until tomorrow as eldest son fancies a wander round the garden centres. They have lots of Christmas goodies in now, so it should be fun.

El, lovely clips. Who would have thought such lovely music could come from some glasses?

Summer, hope you are feeling bright and breezy this morning.

Velvet, 40 minutes on the stepper deserves a , well done you.

Summer, that's nice - a perfect autumn day for a walk in the countryside.

Yogi, the man in the Skoda advert apparently is Petr Spatina.

Just as gifted is Robert Tiso who has released an album.

This is Bach's Toccata and fugue in D minor. Toccata comes from the Italian word for touch and in music is generally used for a very rapid piece of music for a virtuoso performer written for the performer to demonstrate their skill.

and then there's this: Pachebel's Canon in D major

Although the Canon is very impressive, it is easier than the Toccata as a canon consists of a piece of music starting, then a few bars later whilst it is playing a second person joins in with the same music starting from the begiining, and they in turn are joined by a third. There is a fourth person called the basso continuo who is playing during this but a different score effectively providing the backing to the three people. So in this case, Tiso is probably only playing twice with the main theme being played 3 times at different intervals.

A similar concept was used before Pachebel wrote the Canon. "Sumer is icumen in" is possibly the oldest dating back to around 1260. I found this performance which is quite haunting and has the feel that this is how it would have sounded like back then.

Good morning everyone. Another dry, chilly day up here.

Sounds like a perfect Sunday, Summer. Have you finished making your Christmas cards yet?

My greenhouse cleaning, which was postponed from yesterday, will be happening today.

Harvey stayed overnight, so he and Keira can play together in the garden while I get on with things.

Loved Downton last night, I thought it was a good end to the series - not saying anything else until everyone has watched it.

Yogi19

Good morning everyone, clear but cold here this morning.

Summer sounds like you had a great Sunday, good luck with the greenhouse cleaning Yogi.  Honestly everyone do comment on Downton, I will have forgotten it all by the time I come to watch it

Leaving a hug for Skylark and Joyron, Ros and EL (thank you for all the lovely clips)
