Good luck with the painting, Skylark.

I checked my numbers for Saturday's lottery. I was shocked to discover I have 5 out of the six main numbers and the bonus ball - unfortunately, they are spread between two lines, so I will collect 2 x ÂĢ10.

You're rich, you're rich . Just don't spend it all at one and invest wisely

I think I'll buy ingredients to make lots of cakes from Squiggle's recipe books.

I'm happy with my ÂĢ20, Summer.

BTW, glad you enjoyed the film.

I think I must be mega selfish because when I read about your win (hoping of course that it was on the massive scale we have been seeing lately) that maybe we COULD all go on that cruise   How cheeky am I?

Its been a bit of a nightmare morning.  I didn't really feel quite up to a long drive today but that's life you just gotta do it.  Well they had closed the road and so we went on the diversion only to find that it diverted us to a point way back from where we had started, ie Barnstaple instead of heading towards Exeter.  So when we eventually got pointed in the right direction time was getting on and then I got massively, just massively lost in Exeter.  None of the roads looked familiar and I thought I had memorised the route.  We still made the appointment on time, then I had to wait ages for my grandson to return, he has a soft splint thing now which they moulded on to his wrist and he has to remove this 3 or 4 times a day and try to exercise the wrist lightly, and an appointment in 3 months time to check on it all.  And I am exhausted.

Squiggle, one thing you could never, ever be accused of is being selfish

Believe me, if it had been a big win, I would be booking our tickets on the cruise right now.

Your trip to the hospital turned out to be a bit of a marathon. What a nightmare journey, no wonder you feel tired. Grab a nice cuppa and put your feet up for a wee rest.

Squiggle, there is no way in which I would ever think of you as selfish . I think selfishness would involve depriving another person of something because you want it for yourself.

I'm not surprised you are tired after that journey. I've posted before of that time I was not that far away from where you were that the road was closed - I think I was on the A39, I had to make a diversion on to the A399 going towards Tiverton, probably went the wrong way, and landed up by travelling through the centre of Exmoor, and was relieved to get to the Minehead to Tiverton road before it got dark. Whilst I was driving through Exmoor, I went past just one vehicle.

Oh EL I know that bit where you were travelling and unless you know the road it can be a nightmare around there.  I never go that way without a good large scale map because some of those roads through Exmoor can lead you literally over hill and dale.  Very pretty though but that's not much consolation when you're lost.

Squiggle, I thought you would know that area quite well. I was glad that I had filled up before I started that journey so there was never any risk of running empty. I could tell from the position of the sun that I was broadly driving from west to east rather than going round in circles, but I was very glad to eventually see a signpost towards Minehead as we used to go on holiday at Blue Anchor.

We'd go there by train:

One time, we walked along the beach towards Watchet and almost got caught by the incoming tide, but we hurried up and reached Watchet before the sea reached us. Scrambled up to the road and celebrated our escape by having some fish and chips. then we caught a bus back to Blue Anchor.

The parts in bold ^^^^^^ made me smile.

If I were to get lost, the position of the sun wouldn't be any help at all - my sense of direction is atrocious.

Good evening everyone.    Oh Squiggle, what a day you have had.  Please get some rest!!  You could never be considered selfish.  I will go along with your dream about the cruise.  It would be wonderful to be able to do that.

Off for tonight.  Will catch up tomorrow.

*night owls* Oh squiggle, sorry to hear about your nightmare day I hope you got a restful evening and have a good night's sleep I've spent hours downloading the new software for the iPhone, and mr summer has successfully got the new operating system for his phone. I tried mine but the apple server is too busy right now- a trillion people worldwide are currently getting the update! I'm going to leave it for tonight, it can take an hour to complete the whole process! Wishing everyone a peaceful night's sleep

Good morning everyone.    It's dull and simal here at the moment, but no rain.  It is supposed to brighten up later.

Squiggle, I hope you got a good nights sleep and are feeling a lot better this morning.  I've actually managed to get a pile of ironing done first thing so I don't feel so lazy as before.

Hope to catch up with you all later.

Joyron

Good morning everyone, I have coloured and washed my hair and feel much better than yesterday.  I hope today is calmer than yesterday, I just have to prepare my swap book for the post and await my lovely new Milly Johnson

Thank you all for your calming good wishes, I hope you all have a lovely day today.  I think the weather is due to be a little better this weekend.  It sounded so lovely Summer listening to the camp fire and the owls.

El i've not yet had the chance to defrost my windscreen yet either, I'm usually at it on a regular basis by now. I don't want to wish a frost on us but it would be nice if you could test out your new one. I can't even remember which button is the back & which button is the front windscreen Squiggle that sounds great, it's so uplifting to have fresh hair I hope you have an easier day today

It might have been related, but I'm not sure how these things work, Summer. It was running really slowly all evening and then it crashed just before the end of BB highlight show.

Glad you are feeling refreshed this morning, Squiggle.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it is okay tonight.

I am enjoying BB - well I am enjoying watching Aaron and Harry running rings round Anton, Jay and Aden. I am really missing Live Feed though, I don't like only having HL shows to form my opinions.

The BB thread is good fun, in fact it's better than the programme.

Yes, Judy was Liza's mum. She also had another daughter called Lorna Luft (I think) who is a singer too.

Vincente Minnelli was the director of Meet Me in St Louis, which is where he met Judy Garland and they married a year later. Liza was born a year after that.

Hi everyone xxx
Hope you are all well, will catch up with goss x
Been busy painting . Using a brush so it has taken me longer. I gave up with the roller, as i was making too much mess , spraying everywhere!  Got my wall lights up , i wasnt sure about them as my walls arent very solid, but i looked around for ones that arent too heavy. They look nice and very cosy in the evening.
