My point is that i didnt ask for them, i dont want to use them as i havent paid for them. If i send them back it will cost me postage and makes me look like uncaring so and so. If i pay for them, its because i feel like i am forced to do so, and i like to decide myself which charities i give to, in one form or another.
I understand that this may be a way of promoting the charity, if they cannot pay for expensive advertising , but it isnt quite right, or is it?

No it isn't right, Skylark. I hate this sort of thing.

I would mark the envelope "Return to sender" and pop them back in the post.

I agree, I choose which charities to support and I really don't approve of this kind of thing.  Don't let it send you on a guilt trip Skylark.

EL I don't think I have my thinking head on today because I saw the name Harry and I was thinking 'but EL isn't watching' and what sort of task is it where they are force feeding Harry

I thought the same when I first read it, Squiggle.

evening I recorded the film on the +1 channel, and hope to watch it tomorrow while I'm off. I'm planning on being lazy then exercising Skylark, I too would write "return to sender" on the envelope & post it. It's the principal of the thing, free will should still be just that I did a lovely yoga session this evening, I lit candles and started just before sunset, when I finished it was dark & I was very relaxed

That sounds lovely, Summer.

If they gave out medals for partying, we'd be winners.

Aww, Ros. Do you have a half-term holiday coming up soon?

Off to bed now, goodnight Summer and Ros.

Velvet, I haven't seen you on the forum tonight but I'll leave you a hug, just in case.

good morning I'm up early catching worms.. Ok not actually catching worms, I'm just awake! The rain sounds lovely on the windows Yogi, belated sweet dreams my apologies, I fell asleep right after catching the bus, I found my phone under my pillow when I woke-again lol *leaves buffet of porridge, toasts, croissants and many many fruits*

Summer that's so funny, great minds think alike or something, I'm up so early to take my grandson to have the cast off so I was thinking I'm an early bird - thanks for the breakfast

So this is a picture of me this morning, I am hoping I am the bird but with my name I'm probably more likely the worm

I don't 'do' football, it leads to too many heated arguments so I shall leave it to everyone else and just say I hope your team won.

Hope everyone has a good morning.  Guess what I was offered a book swap this morning, from my book swap site, for A Summer Fling by Milly Johnson and now I am getting Here Come The Girls, the one about cruising by her, for free

squiggle

Good morning everyone.    Seems we are all up and about early today!!  I really must try and do some work today, if only I can put the books down!!

So pleased to hear that you are getting "Here Come The Girls" to read Squiggle.  I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  It would be great if we could all go on a cruise together.  I bet we would have a real laugh.

Good luck with the hospital visit.  To all my other lovely buddies, have a great day whatever you are doing.  Sorry about the football.    Speak later.

Joyron

Good morning everyone

So England are the only local country to qualify for Euro 2012, but Ireland did succeed and are in the play-offs so they may still qualify.

When I posted about Harry, I hadn't even thought of either BB Harry or Prince Harry

If you haven't seen the film Roxanne before it may be worth a go. BBC1 tonight at 11.20. It's based on Cyrano de Bergerac and stars Steve Martin and Daryl Hannah. It's the one Steve Martin film which even people who don't normally like him like this film.

El Loro

Good morning everyone. It's raining again.

Summer, thank you for the breakfast, croissants will be lovely.

Squiggle, I hope all goes well at the hospital for your grandson. BTW, I love the early bird pic.

Ros, not long till your half-term and then hopefully you'll be able to relax a bit, and pop in here more often.

El, Mr Yogi likes Steve Martin's films, even though I'm not a big fan. I'll record the film for hubby, thanks El.

Joyron, I think you should finish your book - the housework can wait.

Skylark, I hope your son wasn't too upset by the football result. Mine said it was more or less what they expected but still were gutted.

Good luck with the painting, Skylark.

I checked my numbers for Saturday's lottery. I was shocked to discover I have 5 out of the six main numbers and the bonus ball - unfortunately, they are spread between two lines, so I will collect 2 x ÂĢ10.

You're rich, you're rich . Just don't spend it all at one and invest wisely

I think I'll buy ingredients to make lots of cakes from Squiggle's recipe books.

BTW, glad you enjoyed the film.

I think I must be mega selfish because when I read about your win (hoping of course that it was on the massive scale we have been seeing lately) that maybe we COULD all go on that cruise   How cheeky am I?

Its been a bit of a nightmare morning.  I didn't really feel quite up to a long drive today but that's life you just gotta do it.  Well they had closed the road and so we went on the diversion only to find that it diverted us to a point way back from where we had started, ie Barnstaple instead of heading towards Exeter.  So when we eventually got pointed in the right direction time was getting on and then I got massively, just massively lost in Exeter.  None of the roads looked familiar and I thought I had memorised the route.  We still made the appointment on time, then I had to wait ages for my grandson to return, he has a soft splint thing now which they moulded on to his wrist and he has to remove this 3 or 4 times a day and try to exercise the wrist lightly, and an appointment in 3 months time to check on it all.  And I am exhausted.
