I had 3rd party insurance until I built up my NCB, then I opted for fully comprehensive and I have protected my no claims, too.  You are right El, because of the business use, 3rd party wouldn't be any good for you.

Wow Yogi, it certainly is edge of the seat stuff, hope you enjoy it

I read the blurb and it sounds really good.

Well done, "My Beamish girl". Did you slay the Jabberwock with your vorpal sword whilst you were there? (apologies to Lewis Carroll)

I fancy watching a film tonight, looking thru Sky movies seeing if anything is on . Cant do nearly 3 hours of the Xfactor

I'll be watching Star Trek which starts in 15 minutes - that's the fairly recent one which is about the early days of James Tiberias Kirk, Spock etc.

Evening all.

Summer, sounds like you've had a great day - I'd love the falconry.

Enjoy your meal with Mr Summer.

Skylark, I was looking at wellies last week (I was going to add to my jazzy welly collection) and there were some at ÂĢ35! Needless to say, I didn't buy them.

El, enjoy Star Trek - I am watching the marathon that is X Factor.

I'm off to start my new book, I hope its good, speak to you all tomorrow.  Hugs and kisses for the night owls.

I agree Squiggle, there's no way I'd pay ÂĢ35 for wellies.

Enjoy your new book, goodnight for now.

Good morning it looks to be grey and dull here today too, from what I can see through the gap in the curtain anyway El, and possibly skylark, I hope you enjoyed Star Trek, I throughly enjoyed it when I watched it with mr summer, and I wasn't expecting to like it all! The pre-Xmas diet starts today, I'm sick of eating now and I've gained a few pounds this week, time to fix it! Hope everyone is looking forward to a relaxing Sunday
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone

It's grey here as well, but it looks as if it will be reasonably dry here over the next couple of days.

I saw Star Trek last night and it was thoroughly enjoyable and the actors who played the main characters were very convincing for the most part. It was nice seeing Leonard Nimoy as Spock in his scenes with Zachary Quinto as Spock.

I saw the new Muller advert last night - I post it here in case you haven't seen it - it's unlikely that this full version will get shown many times as they will probably show a much shorter version in future. It is brilliant.

Morning
Good advert El , i hadnt seen it before
Was looking forward to a nice breakfast this morning...grilled bacon and tomato. The bacon is in the bin, far too much salt in it. Wouldnt even give it to the dog !
Talking of dogs, off out for a bit of a walk with her , then catch up with housework. Looking forward to Downton , pity it isnt on earlier than 9pm
Have a nice day, whatever you are all doing xx

The bacon nowadays is not great. It seems to be pumped full of water, salt and nitrates.

For the first Sunday in ages, I thought I was going to get a lie-in. No such luck! Tumble dryer went on the blink and Curry's delivery slot for the new one was between 8am - 7pm today.

They actually arrived at 10.30am but I had to be up at 7.30am.

Yogi19

Yogi, at least having got the tumble drier by 10.30 rather than later has meant that the rest of the day has been freed up if you had wanted to go out.

Squiggle, I hope you enjoyed your film whichever one you chose.

I've been out most of the day - church this morning followed by lunch at a church couple's house with someone else from church. Carrot soup, salmon with roast potatoes and salad, a couple of small helpings of two puddings, cheese and coffee. Nice meal

One of the puddings was an apple crumble. The other one was from a recipe she had been given by a friend of hers and rather unusual. A sponge with a cream filling - ginger and sherry, but not a lot of sherry taste to it.

I've just had a client visiting me (I knew he was coming - he lives on the other side of the country and was here visiting his daughter and sees one of his clients tomorrow before going back home). He's one of my nicer clients and I've known him for years. Some time ago when I was clearing my parents books he mentioned that he used to have a copy of Tom Jones by Henry Fielding and it was one of his favourite books. I had told him that I had seen a copy in my parents' house. Months ago, I had retrieved the copy along with a couple of other Henry Fielding books - Joesph Andrews and Pamela - and today I finally remembered to let him have the books when he called in.

El Loro

You are right El, it was better to have the drier arrive early - it meant Mr Yogi could drag take me round some car showrooms to look at cars this afternoon.

Your lunch sounds very nice - two puddings, lucky El!

I bet your client was really happy with the books - did he know you had them for him, or was it a lovely surprise?

Yogi19

Hi to everyone, the film was OK but not as good as I was hoping.  It had Will Ferrell in it but wasn't up to his usual standard, or maybe just not my sense of humour it was called The Other Guys.

Sounds like Yogi and EL you have both had a good day, how lovely to surprise your client EL especially if he is one of your nicer clients, Yogi how exciting, is Mr Yogi thinking of investing in a new set of wheels?

I usually go for a dry cure bacon or I do love a nice maple bacon but I really only eat it very very rarely.

Hope the new tumble dryer is trouble-free and is it more economical to run Yogi?

Hope your walk was good Skylark and that your day has been good Summer.  Velvet I hope life has been kind to you today and Joyron hope you are enjoying your time.  Leaving a hug for Ros to collect later

squiggle

Evening
Hi Velvet , nice to see you in here . Will have a lookout for Ramsays bacon, thats Ayrshire isnt it ?

An early morning for you Yogi. Currys are great tho . i got my cooker from them. The guys were brilliant, they sorted it all out, explained how it worked and took all the rubbish away. Enjoy your new tumble dryer, not sure if enjoy is the right word but you know what i mean !
Lovely meal El, that was nice giving your books, bet he was well pleased x

Edit...hi squiggle we must have been posting at the same time

Yogi, oh no, more expense - change of car . I've had my Fiesta for a number of years and as I don't do a lot of mileage, there's not a great need to change it whilst the servicing costs remain stable. When I was choosing it I had initially though of getting a Focus (which replaced the Escort range). I was put off it by slightly cutting my hand on a sharp edge on the underneath ot the steering column. I'm not normally bothered by the colour of a car (though you won't see me getting a pink one) but the colour of this one was a yuck looking green.

My client was happy with the books. I had told him months ago that I waould put them to one side for him, but he either had forgotten about them or was too polite to remind me about them. He did offer me money but I didn't want any - we're not talking about first editions, just a routine edition.

El Loro

Yes El, hubby is seriously considering buying another car. His current car is getting on now and we have been advised it is going to start costing us bigtime in repair bills, so a replacement is required, I'm afraid.

Like you El, I know there is no chance of Mr Yogi buying a pink or a yucky green one, he did have his eye on a glossy black one today.

Hi Skylark and Squiggle. I love Ayrshire bacon but I have never tried maple bacon - do you buy it locally, Squiggle?

The tumble drier is working well - it will be put to good use in the Yogi household, as No3 son changes his clothes as often as a catwalk model.

Thanks Squiggle, I'll need to try some.

That sounds really familiar.
