Been to the garden centre this afternoon, with eldest son and DiL.

There were some people from a bird of prey sanctuary, raising awareness and collecting money.

They had four beautiful birds with them - an eagle, a barn owl, a harrier (forget which kind) and a little American kestrel.

The sanctuary isn't too far to travel, so I'm going to put it on my "places to visit" list.

Yes there were a few snowmen - some large and some smaller.

Oooh, I'll need all the details after you've been to the falconry, they are such beautiful birds.

Good morning everyone

Another 2 days here are forecast of very warm weather, then it gets a lot cooler, close to normal. The plants must be getting very confused about this. Oh, and there's mention of some wintry weather over some of the Scottish mountains in the next week or so - crazy.

I and my brother saw the last episode of Dr Who and found it a bit confusing. It sort of made sense by the end, but where it goes from here is a puzzle. The real Dr Who is alive, but as far as history is concerned he's dead, so how can the series carry on because as soon as he appears anywhere that would conflict with history. And have Amy and Rory left the series or not?

I'm sure your cards will be lovely.

My DiL is quite artistic and creative and even made her own wedding invitations, which were beautiful.

Good morning everyone

Squiggle, I'm glad yesterday went well for you and your family

Yogi, I hope my post about Dr Who didn't spoil it for you for when you watch it - I was assuming that everyone who watches it would have watched it on the night. I think when you watch it that you will see I haven't said anything which wasn't already implied.

Good morning everyone. T'is a bit windy up here, but no rain atm.

El, I am one of those people who always reads the spoilers for programmes (nosey and impatient) so you didn't spoil anything for me.

I didn't get the chance to watch it yesterday because I had the family over for Sunday dinner, but I am really looking forward to it.

Having watched it since the start I have given up on Dr Who now I like the new Doctor (Matt Smith?) although not as much as David Tennant but I find the plotlines totally silly and difficult to understand now, such a shame.  I hope you enjoy it though Yogi.

I think the finest Dr Who stories were the 2 parter story (David Tennant) called Human Nature (part 1) and The Family of Blood (part 2) where he has lost his memory and becomes John Smith a teacher - set in WW1 - outstanding drama by any standard, and that story was followed by Blink, which was the one which was about Sally Sparrow and introduced the Weeping Angels. Those 3 episodes were released together on a single DVD, and is the only Dr Who DVD I have ever bought.
