Good morning everyone.    Weather overcast and gloomy.  Not as nice as yesterday!!  Sorry I didn't manage to get here but had a very busy day.  Hair cut went well.  It's nice and short so I won't have too much trouble with it over the next couple of weeks!!

Skylark, the police business last night sounds similar to my posting months ago when I was woken up in the middle of the night by a dog barking, looked out of my window to see lots of police vehicles and police, then seeing this woman being escorted into the back of a police van. Very dramatic, but I never found out what it was about.

Summer, I was laughing at you falling asleep mid-post. Mr Yogi can be chatting away one minute, and you turn round and he's fast asleep. I think he must be gifted as well.

100 sleeps until Christmas - is that all?! I have noticed some stores already have Christmas cards, large tins of sweets and selection boxes.

Squiggle, I heard David Baldacci has been nominated for an award  on ITV3's Crime Thriller Awards. I haven't read any of his books, would you recommend him?

Skylark, why do workmen, binmen etc always turn up early and make a racket on the one day when you are trying to have a lie in?

Joyron, hope it stays dry until you get your shopping and banking done.

El, thanks for the reminder about the upgrade today. Maybe that will sort out the problem of Summer's grey screen.

Mr Yogi has been away for a few days and is due home this afternoon. It will be good to have him back, even if he will present me with a suitcase full of washing.

Also worth checking out is Wish You Well which is a complete change from his usual style but a wonderful heartwarming book which I loved.

Skylark, not a nice way to be woken up by a pneumatic drill Is it planned work? Or could it be a detected gasleak, in which case I can understand why they would need to start early.

Skylark congrats on your shiny new iPhone! Go to the app store and search, then search for gagajoyjoy, you'll then be able to download the app There's loads of room! You'll struggle to fill it, I've got about 50 apps, several books, several playlists & albums, the entire BBC series of pride & prejudice and hundreds of photos on mine, and it's only 3/4 full I've only got the smallest memory one too! I hope you enjoy using it, it took me a few days to get used to typing on mine but I love it dearly now Any questions, just give me a shout

I saw an article on the BBC website about an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. The BP Visitors Choice Award went to this painting by Jan Mikulka. It's of a documentary film maker who is a friend since the painter has known since childhood.The painting is called Jakub.

 

If you look at it, consider that this is an oil painting on canvas, not a photograph.To show it at its best I have done it as an attachment.

Hi Summer, i couldnt get back on, had visitors. My son has it just now, will get it sorted tomorrow , i was a bit scared of going over, knew what i was doing with the Blackberry, but the new one does so much more. Thanks for advice x I didnt know you could download books !

I hope you get on alright learning how to use it skylark, it's trial & error really There are a several books apps available, with lots of free books. I think there's a kindle app too. I use iBooks. My most used app is called myfitnesspal it's a free calorie counter and it even let's you scan barcodes! Well apart from gaga that is lol I'm always here, on Facebook & twitter! Basically, there's a whole world available in your hand

Hi Summer, there is a lot you can do on it , that i didnt realise. Did you have to put in your bank details to get itunes? I wasnt keen on that to be honest.  
So its hard to go over the 500mb, s then ?  x

Oh very hard, you'd have to download lots of videos to really fill it up! The pride & prejudice series I have on mine is 6 hours total viewing time My iTunes account is linked to my credit card, I'd never use my bank account for shopping online it's password protected and you can lock your phone with a pin number too

Also, even if I gave mr summer my password, he can't buy anything with my account because iTunes recognises that it's not my phone! Clever

I don't mind at all skylark, I'm far more patient with anyone who's not my mum, but to her credit she does very well on her own now Its easy to forget that the iPhone is a telephone sometimes lol

Squiggle, I have ordered a copy of David Baldacci's "Wish You Well".

Its a lovely book Yogi and one that stays in my memory, I loved it, hope you enjoy it too.
