Well done, Mr Summer. Enjoy your meal, Summer.

Don't feel odd, Squiggle. I love roast pork with apple sauce, I just find pork chops a wee bit dry - but maybe it's my cooking that's at fault.

That's because you've never casseroled them in cider

You are right, I've never casseroled them in cider, but I will try it soon.

I've been watching The Natural World on BBC2. It was following an elephant family, which used to be lead by a matriarch called Echo. Echo died in 2009 aged 64, after a really bad drought. The film followed her 38 relatives and descendants and their struggle to survive.

Poignant, heartbreaking and uplifting, all at the same time.

I very rarely drink alcohol because I'm not keen on the taste. But recently, my youngest son gave me a bottle of Pear Cider to try, and it was lovely.

I actually nicked  borrowed another bottle from his fridge one night, but it was rather costly. I felt so guilty that I bought him a four-pack to replace it.

I loved it, Velvet. Elephants are definitely one of my favourite animals.

Not tried it Yogi but I've read it's nice. Just seems like an oxymoron.

And your son's lucky he's got a mum like you

He's a good lad, Velvet - as are his two brothers. I'm a lucky mum, too.

Off for a bath before BB starts. I can hardly contain myself, I know it's going to be dead exciting.

Back soon.

You won't be disappointed Squiggle, it was brilliant.

Which author are you reading now? Anyway, enjoy your book, and catch up tomorrow.

alan titchmarch - says put green tomatoes with a banana skin or banana to ripen - glad you had a good day

The banana thing works. Last year, I stuck a big bunch of bananas in the greenhouse, and they all ripened.

Good morning everyone

Summer, I think the reason why the other Cheltenham lost its name was that there is just one long road through the valley there with houses built on both sides all the way along and it and the next village just merged into one because of building development in between.

Another pleasantly sunny morning today.

morning It's bright & dry but chilly here today, i think the first frost isn't too far away Thanks El, I'm a curious creature and love a good logical explanation isn't it interesting how places change over time, changing the geography of the area with them Skylark I hope have a lovely day with your granddaughter & good luck at the vets
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone. There has been a definite drop in temperature in recent days, but the sun is shining, atm.

Skylark, hope all goes well at the vets, and have a good day with your granddaughter.

Summer, are you at work today? If so, hope you only get nice, polite clients.

El, are you working from home, or out and about today?

I'm going to do my weekly grocery shop this morning, so I'll catch up later.

Yogi19

Good morning everyone, yes a noticeable drop in temperature but it can be deceptive.  Out shopping earlier in the week and then doing some work outside I wore warm jumpers and was soon too hot, you don't know what to wear.  Its one thing sitting around but when you start to do something you can soon heat up.

Good luck with your shopping Yogi and with the vets Skylark (and enjoy your time with the wee one).

I am reading David Baldacci at the moment who I really like but the book I have just finished was by a new author to me Belinda Jones, the California Club, it was a great read.

Yogi, I'm working at home but have just been out. Yesterday afternoon, I went to see a client mid afternoon and didn't get back in until 7.30 and I was starving by then so immediately had my tea. I will be starting work on the accounts for my largest client. They are not quite ready yet for me to start but because the weather tomorrow is a bit dodgy I thought I would get their records this morning as I didn't want to be carrying boxes of paper in the rain. 4 large boxes of papers and obviously heavy. Carrying them down their rather precarious staircase means I have to be ultra careful otherwise I could have a nasty fall.

Their bookkeeper had been thinking of emailing me their accounts data so that I didn't need to go back. At over 350 mb of data, I'm not sure that it would be possible to send that as 1 email, and the time it would take for them to email it would be substantial even if it was possible. To give you an idea of the size of data, a PDF file of War and Peace is 10 m. So they will put it onto a CD or 2 as that is more sensible.
