Yes, Paddy and Darryn aren't going to do it for her.

El, the map looks like it's wearing a Wee Willie Winkie cap.

Loving the skating Santa, Squiggle.

That's why I thought I must post the picture, and I'm glad you could see the same impression that I had.

Nice picture of Santa, but let's hope that's not a sign of this weekend's weather

When you can, you may want to look at the BBC map they announced earlier this week showing mobile phone blackspots around the country. It goes right down to street level.

So far today, apart from a brief light shower it has been dry here, but very cloudy and not warm for August.

Aww Summer, no internet connection is very annoying. Is it all working properly now?

We had some sunshine this afternoon, then a terrible thunderstorm which lasted for ages. The dogs weren't impressed.

El, I'll have a look at that map later on, there are a few mobile phone blackspots around us.

Squiggle, you wouldn't need to top up your pond water if you lived up here.

I did love it up there Yogi, so did my hubby, but we decided it was a bit far from family.  Many parts of North Devon remind me of places in Scotland

That's nice, Squiggle.

I've never been to Devon, but I've heard how pretty it is.

Sweet dreams squiggle & yogi I got my 3G back around 3pm- it was literally the weather that caused my blip, it's usually very good coverage at work. It gave me the chance to put my head in my book in-between clients though Tonight I took my bunnies to their holiday home- my SIL house, she's very excited to bunnysit them lol Heading to Cambridge tomorrow, but I'll pop in from wherever and whenever Happy bank holiday weekend to you all
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone

Thanks for breakfast Summer . I hope you have a nice day and hope the rain eases off. In Gloucester it was wet overnight but I think today is likely to be a mix of sun and showers.

I won't say who was evicted last night from CBB last night:

a) I don't want to spoil it for squiggle

and b) I don't watch it so don't know

El Loro

Good morning everyone, its bucketing down again.  Summer thanks for the delicious breakfast and I hope the weather improves for you and that the bunnies will be on their best behaviour for your SIL.  I think we are promised a dry day tomorrow here so I hope the bank holiday won't be a total washout for everyone.

Signing off for the moment, squiggle still clueless as to who went last night, but about to go for a poke through the forum to find out (and thank you Yogi for your restraint in not mentioning it )

squiggle

I did some shopping this morning and popped into Boots in Cheltenham. I used to get Boots enamel protection toothpaste but over the last couple of years they (and the Gloucester branch) had stopped stocking it. So more recently I ordered it online from Boots (being Boots own brand means that I can't get it anywhereelse). Last time I needed to stock up I discovered that it was no longer mentioned on the website. That meant that I had to buy the Sensodyne equivalent. The Sensodyne one is more expensive and has a slightly odd taste whereas the Boots one has the normal minty taste.

So I was pleased when today I saw that the Cheltenham branch has started stocking them again. They've changed the box which is probably why it had been taken off their website. So I bought a few boxes and some other things coming to a total cost of about ÂĢ28. At the time I thought that's more expensive than I was expecting but paid it. When I got home I thought I would have another look at the receipt. I worked out that I had been overcharged by about ÂĢ14 .

I wasn't going to let this go as that's quite an overcharge. So I went back to Boots in Cheltenham, asked to see the manager, and she and the original till operator eventually agreed that I was right and that I had been overcharged. I got profuse apologies from both of them, my overpaid money back, and lots of extra points added to my Advantage card to compensate for this . It appears that the scanner went into overdrive and charged me for 9 boxes of toothpaste instead of 4. Of course I wonder just how many other people get overcharged in error without realising it.

El Loro

Good job you spotted that EL.  Its no small amount to lose and, as you say, if you're not so careful about checking it could be an expensive mistake, hope no-one got caught out and didn't realise. And of course it involved you in lots of unnecessary travelling and time wasted sorting out a mistake that was not your fault.

squiggle

Squiggle, I could have waited until I went there again which would have saved on the travelling and time, but I thought it was better to go back on the same day, and it's just as well that I did because the till operator remembered selling me the items. I had brought the goods with me so she would know that I wasn't trying something on and had removed the nonexistent boxes of toothpaste before coming back.
