Good morning everyone

Cold frosty start here. Some sunshine and a forecast high of 6°.

Continuing to be dry for a few days but looks as there's precipitation possibly from Tuesday next week. BBC forecast has the precipitation as rain each day so not good for flooded areas. Some sites are forecasting much colder weather than the BBC and a lot of snow. Met Office say there's considerable uncertainty at present about this.

I hope everyone has a good day

You'd think that with today's technologies these weather stations would be able to collab their findings to give the general public a forecast that is somewhat close to what it's actually going to be

Slim, I've had a look over the Talking Pictures tv channel for next week (Monday to Sunday) but didn't spot anything new of interest to mention.

The reason for posting earlier than usual is that I see that they are starting to show the old BBC series "Dixon of Dock Green" on Saturday evenings as from tomorrow. The start time is 19.20 but that may vary from week to week. Most episodes are lost and only 32 of the 432 shown exist in full. The wiki article on the series has a section about that:

I don't remember watching any of this series El....shame about the missing episodes, but I don't suppose it would matter if each episode is a stand alone story.

I think each episode was a stand alone story, Slim
Dixon would introduce the story talking to viewers, then the story unfolded, and he would wrap up the story at the end talking to viewers again.
As you probably know, the earlier film "The Blue Lamp" introduced the character of Dixon who was killed during the film but the series brought him back a few years later.

Glynis Johns died last week. I found this Youtube clip. It's just over 8 minutes. First minute is an intro. Then there's a news item of a musical which had just opened where the composer is interviewed and sings one of the songs whilst playing the piano. After the interview there's an extract from the musical. There is a bit of duplication with that extract.
The extract features Glynis Johns singing that song. The man seen is Len Cariou.

The song would become far better known afterwards when it was covered by others.

Match this afternoon at Bolton where Cheltenham was playing was abandoned during the first half when a Bolton supporter had a suspected cardiac arrest, The man was treated by medical staff and paramedics there with the teams going off the pitch. Following sustained attempts to revive the patient, he was taken to the first-aid room at the stadium and the match was abandoned. The supporter was subsequently taken to hospital and the thoughts of everyone at Bolton Wanderers are with him and his family.
