awwwww well done
night EL slim moonsieee
Good morning everyone
Cloudy here, may get a bit of rain this morning, forecast to be raining all evening. There's a yellow warning for wind, Met Office has gusts in the 30s, BBC in the low 40s.
Looks as if weather is expected to get colder during January, Met saying colder than normal but no sign yet of severe cold. Ice and snow risk higher than normal,
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning Buddies
Not to windy here and the rain has stopped for now
Enjoy your day everyone

Slim, little new of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week. The 15.10 film on Thursday is a British comedy called "The Gang's All Here" (1939) about an investigator for an insurance company called in to investigate the theft of a collection of jewels. Investigator was played by Jack Buchanan. His best known film is "The Band Wagon" (1953), the one with the song "Triplets", the one where he, Fred Astaire and Nanette Fabray are little triplets
The film is boosted by having Edward Everett Horton as the butler.
Alfred Hitchcock had tentatively agreed to direct when he signed for David O Selznick. He then withdrew from this assignment.

Those sobbing girls are about to be stole away
And Channel 5's two films for tomorrow afternoon are two of the best films of all time, the only clue needed is that the most famous song in both films has rain in the title (which is also in the title of one of the better known songs in the film then shown on Channel 5).

Yep! spotted all three of them

I've never seen the third one, Slim, "My Fair Lady" . That's mainly because I doubt that it can be as good as the original non-musical "Pygmalion" (1938) (Leslie Howard & Wendy Hiller)

Slim, I thought I would do a search on imdb on American film musicals which were at least 150 minutes long and this is the result:
https://www.imdb.com/search/ti...;primary_language=en
There's 22 films in the list and "My Fair Lady" is the 6th longest.

It's possible, Moonie, that there might have been a momentary issue with the log in which had gone by the time your went out and had come back in.
I don't sign out of the site so generally bypass the log in page

I'm quite surprised at a couple of them being American musicals...'Oliver' for one, with it having a very British casting

And 'The Sound of Music'....surely that's a British film

And as for 'My Fair Lady', well, you can't get more British than Sir Rex Harrison
