Just had a phone call from some outfit calling itself "Business Choice". Was my business aware that BY/Openreach were in the process of a major upgrade in their telephone service? Told the caller that my phone wasn't BT/Openreach. Asked me who was the provider. I didn't give an answer and ended the call.

I realised that this was about BT transitioning phones over to digital/VOIP obviously as my brother's was done last week. It's more complex when it comes to any business with a phone switchboard and a number of phones. That's what the caller would have been talking about. Not surprisingly, I don't have the need for a switchboard

Did some local shopping, saw that there were road closed signs for a road I'd intended to go down so went a different way. There were closed signs at both ends of that road but I walked down the road and I could have driven there. There was work on part of the pavement and a barrier put across half the road rather then the whole road. (road goes round corners are both ends of the road so the roadworks  are not visible unless you go round the corners.

Checked on the roadworks map site and that work is scheduled to end tomorrow. But I also saw that Cheltenham Road in Gloucester will be having long term roadworks from 2 January lasting until April the following year. There will be traffic lights controls. It's to do with a major scheme to create a cycle lane from Gloucester to Cheltenham, Work had been going on for quite some time but starting from Cheltenham and now just about to reach here.
These roadworks won't affect me as much as it will affect commuters using that road.

At least that’s something El

An official statement by Man Utd issued in response:

"Manchester United has issued the following statement in reaction to today's judgement by the European Court of Justice on the European Super League:

Our position has not changed. We remain fully committed to participation in UEFA competitions, and to positive cooperation with UEFA, the Premier League, and fellow clubs through the ECA on the continued development of the European game."
So it doesn't look as if they are intending to move at this time. They were one of the clubs who had been involved originally with the Super League but rapidly pulled out when the announcement was met with hostility.
