Slim, not much new of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week though on Thursday at 15.10 there's a 1939 comedy called "Eternally Yours". About a woman (Loretta Young) who is engaged (Broderick Crawford), goes to see a magic act, falls for the magician (David Niven), breaks off her engagement, marries him and becomes his assistant. That's the start of the film.

Seems to be watchable but not outstanding. Strong supporting cast Hugh Herbert, Billie Burke, C Aubrey Smith, Zasu Pitts.

Good morning everyone

Cloudy and chilly here though above zero. Rain forecast for most of today and tomorrow with around an inch of rain.

I hope everyone has a goof day

Yellow warning for rain now issued for that inch of rain tomorrow in my area. Some places may get just under 3 inches.
I was aware of this on Friday and had contacted a client then to collect their accounts records that afternoon rather than Monday so that the records didn't get wet.

You're always thinking one step ahead El

No weather warnings for us here thankfully...
The BBC met shows rain for most of the days next week, our local met shows a much drier forecast
Guess we'll just have to wait and see

Looking at the weather maps, it looks as if my estimate of an inch of rain for tonight and tomorrow is more likely to an inch and a half. The rain here is heavy tonight to early morning, eases off but then starts again. The second lot of rain stalls over my part of the country and doesn't move away until Tuesday morning.

Cloud inversions form in valleys with a clear view above the clouds. Kinder Scout id the highest part of the Peak District.

Back in January last year I posted the above about cloud inversions seen in the Peak district,

There's this BBC article posted today about cloud inversion seen on the Malvern hills. They are much closer to me than the Peak district.

The photo with the tree is quite spectacular I think

The third photo shows the toposcope (viewfinder) at the top of Worcestershire Beacon.

The bench shown in the fifth photo is probably the one near that toposcope. It's been a long time since I've been there but I have sat on the bench with my parents and brother. Great view when it's a clear day

The rain main be coming to an end over the next hour here. Had about 22mm of rain from this rain band since Sunday evening so not quite an inch.
Next band of rain forecast from tomorrow evening to Thursday afternoon. Not expected to get as much rain though.

Normal flood warnings in place by the Environmental Agency which are for those areas most prone to flooding. Nothing unusual about those.
