I'm a real night owl tonight I went to pick up my newly framed pictures from the lovely little gallery tonight, they look wonderful and came home with a large wooden mirror for the living room Then mr summer decided to hang them straight away, but with our house being new, hanging anything in the Walls isn't an easy task.. But it's done, we love it and I can't wait to see it in daylight! The wall with the mirror has been empty for 3 years, so we're thrilled to have finally found the right item. Will post pics when I can over the weekend Squiggle I'm pleased things have gone well for your grandson today I do hope he can return home tomorrow *crosses fingers* El, what a great cause to raise funds for, I'm glad your supper was a good one I hope you have a lovely weekend with your brother for early birds for brunch birds and for snoozy birds Happy weekend all *leaves out platter of fine toasting breads, butter, jams & marmalades, peanut butter, marmite and tower of pancakes*

Good morning everyone, a very quick post before I set off for the hospital again.  The doctors haven't seen him yet but he's champing at the bit and they are doing their rounds so off I go.

Sun shining in the windows, showing up the dust, so going to have a clean up as i have an empty house today. hope to catch you all later 

Back home safely, grandson in quite a lot of pain and the strongest painkillers they have given him are codeine sulphate? I think its sulphate they are supposed to be not addictive like normal codeine were.  Its the pain in his wrist not his hip that is bad but I told him it will get better day by day.

 

He did a really nice thing before he left, I had paid for TV until tomorrow afternoon so he phoned them up and said he was changing beds and now the 2 old guys can watch the rugby this afternoon.  One of them has cancer of the face and they are trying to keep each other going but now they can both watch TV for a while, I think that's a lovely gesture.

 

He had a bit of a problem with a nurse whilst I was on my way.  He had asked her when he might be discharged and she was quite shirty with him, said its very unlikely you will even be discharged today so he asked to speak to the doc who said no probs its healing nicely, we'll whip out the drain, lie on the bed for a while to help it to clot nicely and you'll be on your way in an hour.  Thank goodness that there are more of the nice sort in hospitals than the nasty.

 

Going to have a bit of lunch now and then just do absolutely nothing

Enjoy your bath Summer, thanks for the piccies, your room looks lovely, I love the pic of the cathedral, they have framed it really well and the mirror is nice too. 

 

My grandson is at home, not with me, but just to know that the operation is behind him makes me very happy.  The bumpy journey - we have very windy roads around here - caused him some pain but he's home now.

Squiggle, glad your grandson is safely home.

Summer, I love the mirror and the Catherdral pic, too. It finishes off your lovely room very nicely.  Thank you for the choccies. I started a diet yesterday and RL choccies are a no-no, so the virtual ones are very welcome.

Although the weather's been cloudy over the last couple of days, it hasn't been very wet.And it looks dry for my brother's journey back to London today. He's taking the train which leaves at noon which means that as I won't get back in time from church he will be walking to the railway station. As a treat I bought some key lime pie for us yesterday which was quite nice.

Pancakes and key lime pie - I bet you can all understand why I needed to go on a diet.

Good morning everyone, sign me up for the key lime pie appreciation society (KLPAS) delicious!  Just as well I don't live in Florida the last time I was there I used to go in this supermarket where their key lime pie was to die for, you could get subs made just the way you wanted them, I used to go for the banana pickle in my roast beef sub - gorgeous (I don't think you can get it over here), plus about 40 different kinds of yummy ice cream.  If I lived there I would be ginormous

I love my naughty foods but I love to keep in shape too, I had such a quiet day at work y'day that I felt I couldn't justify drinking wine until I had done something active. Hi Summer do you steam the pudding for 7 hours right away?  Its some years since I made one but I seem to remember steaming for about 4 and then finishing the steaming on the day.

Summer, Joyron's problems are caused by your 3 pictures being too wide for her browser to be able to handle them.

 

I've taken the liberty to repost them below so that if you are happy to delete the three pictures it won't cause her problems.

 

When you insert pictures which are wide, if you edit them by clicking on them in the Post Reply box, then click on the edit image icon to the left of the smiley face icon, then click on Appearance tab and change the first dimensions box to no more than 620, the second dimensions box should automatically adjust, then click on Update (or do this as you are posting the picture), then Joyron won't have problems.

 

 

Nice to hear from you Joyron, is it possible for you to change your browser I wonder as it seems to cause problems for you?  I use Firefox and it seems to be the most trouble-free

Oh to answer your question about the pudding; I have to steam in on a moderate heat for 7 hours, then a further 2 before serving.. It's a recipe from the Betty's cookbook, which I've never tried before but so far is going very well

I hope it turns out the most delicious pudding ever Summer, I bet it does coming from that site

Only 20 mins left of cooking time, it smells like a pudding now

I have had a lazy afternoon, watched Catherine Cookson,s Colour Blind, then Downton Abbey Going to take the dog a little walk soon , then that will be me settled. Dont often have a lazy day, its been great !
