I'm surprised it wasn't sold...signs make good money according to the likes of Bargain Hunt

That sign was taken by drunken students. I guess that one of them kept it and eventually decided to return it. Might have put it away somewhere, forgotten that they had it, then were reminded recently when the Beatles were in the news about that new song which they released.

Yes, I've heard the new/old song, have you?
TBH, I wasn't overly struck by it...I guess how it was done is slightly impressive but not surprising given the technology we have nowadays..

I posted this elsewhere a couple of weeks ago:
I started to listen to that Beatles song "Now and Then" but it didn't seem to me to be that good IMO.
Whatever use of "AI" was made, it didn't have the ability to get to the same deep quality of the best of their songs.

So, my reaction was the same as yours, Slim

Interesting news article about the discovery of a "perfect solar system" which is one where there haven't been any collisions.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/sci...environment-67488931

Part way down the article is a clip called "A musical take on the perfect solar system". Each planet has a different note which sounds when a planet reaches the white vertical line. Ancient Greek philosophers were the ones who originated the concept of "music of the spheres" and the clip is a demonstration of that.

Facinating stuff El

Why were our planets so offline with each other that they crashed I wonder....

I hope the presence of our satelite doesn't upset the harmony up there ..

There's a long wiki article about possible ways in which our solar system was formed, Slim, though I don't think the Moon has much effect on the overall harmony

Doesn't mention Genesis though

Just returned from doing my shopping which I normally do on Saturday mornings. I thought I'd do it today as the BBC is forecasting mist for much of tonight and early morning, So it could take a lot longer to de-ice the car windows tomorrow morning whereas the frost had gone by about 9.30 today.

Good thinking Batman!

Not a flake of snow, nor a drop of rain here today EL...just clear blue skies & sunshine
A total contrast to yesterday

Good morning everyone

Minus 2° and misty outside here at present, forecast to get to zero by noon and a high of 2° later.
I was right to do my shopping yesterday

I hope everyone has a good day

Some weak sunshine now here, temperature struggling, just under zero now , could get up to 1 this afternoon. Fractionally warmer tonight and forecast to get rain tomorrow and could get a high of 6.
Weather warnings for snow and ice in place don't get as far south as here.

What is it with the Italian builders...have they never heard of a straight line

I'd be seriously worried if I lived within the proximity of either towers in Bologna or the one in Pisa

As far as the one in Pisa is concerned, the lean is due to the tower being built on weak subsoil, the problems were realised not that long after the building had commenced. There's a wiki article which has some information about the construction:

The very local weather recording station near here showed that the highest the temperature has got to so far today was minus 0.6°. Currently going down and at the time of posting is -1.9°. Still due to get warmer over night with a band of precipitation. The BBC and Met Office have it as starting off with sleet then rain.

I'm no construction worker, but couldn't they have underpinned it at the point of realising it was leaning

At least recent works have reduced the tilt
