Yep. seen that, knew it was her

When I saw that advert yesterday I thought it was likely to be Gillian Anderson but thought I would check it as it seemed a bit surprising that she would be in that advert. Might be that with the ongoing actors strike in the States affecting many films and tv series with a knock on effect in this country that she did the advert as I don't think that would be affected. Saw her first in the X Files series. There was one episode in that which indicated to me that she could be a very good actress. I later saw her in the 2005 BBC adaptation of Dickens' Bleak House. She was very good in that and was nominated as best actress in the British Academy Television Awards. She didn't win, that went to the lead actress of that series, Anna Maxwell Martin.

She was also very good in the Irish series 'The Fall'

Still rainy here at present, so far the overnight gust of wind at 37 mph was the highest here. Still low air pressure but slowly rising.
I;m not aware of anything serious weatherwise in this part of the country.

Seaton have had a street turn into a river by the seafront & Sidmouth saw the waves drag a truck off the seafront onto the beach.....news courtesy of Devon live.
Could be a whole lot worse...

A bit of a coincidence. In last week's episode was a question which in part referred to a film being made called "The Six Billion Dollar Man" (Mark Walhberg) which is based on the 1970s tv series "The Six Million Dollar Man".
On the BBFC site today is mention of a trailer for a film called "The Fall Guy" (Ryan Gosling) which is based on the 1980s tv series of that name.
Both series starred Lee Majors.

As did I . Lindsay Wagner in "The Bionic Woman" was likeable.
Their boss in both series was played by Richard Anderson,

Richard Dean Anderson of the original "MacGyver series" and "Stargate SG-1" isn't related. I wouldn't be surprised if he has used his middle name in acting credits so that people don't get confused.

A lonely sheep:

If the BBC can headline this with "All baa myself", then I'll add "Ewe'll ever walk alone"

Update news item about that lonely sheep. Now named Fiona, she had been stranded for at least two years, but has been rescued and once shorn will be taken to a farm park.

That article has a link to a Facebook page and there's a short clip on it of her and her rescuers.

Slim, little new of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week, Unlikely to appeal to you but there's a 1949 gangster film called "Port of New York" very early Tuesday morning, Only reason for mentioning is is that there were two actors making their film debut. Neville Brand who  would be typically cast in westerns and gangster films and appeared in the tv series "The Untouchables" in 4 episodes as Al Capone. Also in the film as the main baddie was Yul Brynner (not bald in this film).

I note that BBC 4 is showing their 1964 production in the late evening tonight of "Hamlet at Elsinore" so called as it was "Hamlet" filmed in and around Kronborg Castle in Elsinore which is where Shakespeare had set his play. In the cast were Christopher Plummer (Hamlet), Robert Shaw, Michael Caine (his first role after "Zulu" and Alec Clunes (who was a classical stage actor and, yes, Martin is his son). Also in the cast were Roy Kinnear, Lindsay Kemp and Steven Berkoff who I find off-putting.
And as Fortinbras, the biggest surprise in the cast - Donald Sutherland, a very early role of his.

Had a real teenage crush on him after his performance in 'The King & I'
