Good morning everyone
Some sunshine at times, might get a shower later.
I hope everyone has a good day
@Rocking Ros Rose I heard this piece of choral music on Radio 3 yesterday and though you would like it.
It was written by the German composer Hans Leo Hassler in 1607. Audio only:

Good morning everyone
A sunny but cold start here. It is however clouding over now
Enjoy your day everyone

Thatâs rather nice El, even to a heathen like me
Moonie, good luck for your team tonight
Odd question, how close do two teams need to be in distance for a match to be regarded as a derby?

Thanks El
Good question that. Thereâs only one derby for us, when weâre in the same league and thatâs against Wolves

That's certainly the best known one, Wiki also mentions Stoke, Aston Villa and Birmingham

Good morning everyone
Cloudy here and rain forecast soon.
I hope everyone has a good day
I note that the Talking Pictures tv channel is showing "The Invisible Man Returns" (1940) today. Sort of a follow up to "The Invisible Man" (1933) but different characters and actors.
Of minor interest is that "The Invisible Man" was Claude Rains' first leading role and "The Invisible Man Returns" was Vincent Price's first leading role.

It's not a holiday we ever bothered with as I was growing up.
I tried carving a pumpkin once when my children were young...it's not easy.....even made a pumpkin pie with what I scooped out ....never bothered again
We always have a bowl of goodies for the few trick or treaters that come a knocking but have never encouraged mine to go out.

My mother told me of the time when she boiled some rice for the first time and assumed that you put it a similar amount in weight of rice as you wanted once cooked. The result as you can imagine was quite spectacular

I think we've all done a little trial & error cooking El ...I know I have

There was the one time my mother attempted to make cauliflower cheese. The result wasn't great and wasn't helped as that was the entire meal
Some years ago I was told by someone of something like an office do which he and others had been to. One of those attending was a vegetarian and so couldn't eat the main course so asked for a vegetarian alternative. In due course they were brought the vegetarian alternative:
A plate of mashed potato

I'll bet that was the topic of conversation for weeks...
Cauliflower cheese is one of my favourites to cook
A link to a Youtube clip of a setting for a male choir of a piece of music by Grigor Lvosky (1830-1894) from Moldova.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Cg-TyfX6U4
Note that the choir is from a Russian Orthodox monastery and links in the introductory posting are to Russian sites. The clip though is extraordinary.

Good morning everyone
Cloudy here, some rain forecast during today. Bad weather tomorrow, looks as if there'll be an inch of rain and gusts of wind in the low 40s. No weather warnings at present though are for other areas due to the strength of the wind. Very low air pressure.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning Buddies
Some rain overnight. Cool but not cold
Sunshine with a gentle breeze, for now
Have a good day everyone

Yellow weather warning now issued by the Met Office for that rain with 20 to 30 mm expected at lower levels so the inch I mentioned is realistic. More on higher ground.
Just done my local shopping so won't need to go out tomorrow.

You might have seen a new television advert for beds and wondered who the woman is:

If you thought it might be Gillian Anderson, you would be right.
