A BBC news item today about a contestant on an Indian version of Big Brother who has been arrested for wearing a pendant made of a tiger claw whilst on the show. The contestant has told the police that it's a family heirloom.

The article does not show the pendant.

A prison sentence might seem rather severe for adorning a piece of jewelry, but in this instance I would hope it serves as a good deterent.
These beautiful creatures need protecting

Even if the pendant was a family heirloom, there's no legitimate reason for wearing it on presumably a mainstream Indian television programme

3 lost episodes from BBC series from the 1960s found:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-...cestershire-67218634
An episode of "Mogul" which was a series about an oil company, the best known actor in that was Geoffrey Keen.
An episode of "Hugh and I" the sitcom starring Hugh Lloyd and Terry Scott

And probably the best known series of the three, "Sykes and A" the episode "Sykes and A Marriage" which was aired on 1 February 1961. Eric Sykes and Hattie Jacques. Eric starts to panic when Hattie advertises for an eligible bachelor. The episode also featured Richard Wattis.

Once the episodes have been digitally copied, they'll go into the BBC Archive for people to be able to watch. Article doesn't mention if any of the three will get shown on television but if any do, I would think it most likely to be the Sykes one.

Have only heard of the 'Sykes' one El....
He and Hattie Jacques together were a funny pairing

A very fortunate find for the BBC

The Sykes series was very good, I saw many of them on television over the years

Eric Sykes and Hattie Jacques as brother and sister

Although "Hugh and I" was popular at the time, it doesn't have the status of the Sykes/Jacques series.

Somehow I don't think the England cricket team playing in the 50 overs World Cup are going to be this year's BBC Team of the Year winners this time. That's part of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards but is decided by a BBC panel rather than by public voting.

Andrew Flintoff was absolutely fearless though. I see the Daily Mail are already spending his pay-out for him. What a rag

Hope all are well

Brownies & Air Force Cadets here

A long time ago when I was a boy scout, there was one time where we met the sea cadets. Wasn't a good meeting and we never repeated that. The scout group I was in was in decline and by the time I left it was a bit like a couple of older boys including myself looking after toddlers.
