Slim, little new of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week. On Thursday at 6.30 in the morning is "Road to Bali" (1952) one of the "Road to.." series of films with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour, The films used to be shown quite often on television decades ago but not often nowadays.

Yes, I've seen a few of those 'Road to' films El, as you say though, not for a while.
I guess they were okay for the time, but I don't think I would watch one now

Thank you for looking

Thanks Slim . I haven'r watched one of those "Road To" films in a long time and think they might seem rather dated now

Yes...dated

Also though, I don't know if you're like me, but there are some actors that I used to find funny at the time but after they are revealed years later as unsavoury personalities off screen, I find it hard to find them funny anymore....Bob Hope is one of those people...likewise Sid James from the 'Carry on' films.

I can't say I was ever a fan of Bob Hope's films though thought his "The Cat and the Canary" (1939) and "The Ghost Breakers" (1940) were good when I saw them a long time ago. Both had Paulette Goddard in and were spooky horror comedies.
You definitely don't want to look up "The Ghost Breakers". "The Cat and the Canary" was remade in 1978, that's the one which gets shown on television and is nastier and inferior to the 1939 one.

Can't say whether I've ever seen either film El ...it's quite possible though, sounds like the sort of film my Mum might have watched....spooky horror

Cricket (T20), flag football, squash, lacrosse and baseball/softball to be in the Olympics in 2028. Cricket used to be in the Olympics but the last time was back in 1900.
Flag football is a non-contact form of American football. The sport is five-a-side, on a smaller pitch - 30 by 70 yards - with players needing to pull the flag off the person with the ball instead of tackling.
