The overall winning photo is extraordinary. There's a short video clip below it showing that the crab is genuine.

I don't think anyone could be considered dumb if they thought it was from another planet....especially seeing it from underneath...

They're not the most glamorous of pictures are they El

I agree that they're not pretty pictures, Slim. The only reason why I posted it was because the first photo was because it was unusual. There's a Youtube clip of someone comparing it with the creature in the Alien films. I haven't posted a link to that clip as the poster presumably is sponsored by some scent company to promote products.

Yes I can see why the comparison....although, it's not anywhere near as deadly as the xenomorph in the films

If anyone with Freeview television watches the Sky Arts and/or Pick channels there's a major change next Wednesday (18th),
Sky Arts moves from channel 11 to channel 36,
The Pick channel closes down and is replaced with Sky Mix and moves from channel 36 to channel 11. The intention with Sky Mix is to show more programmes which were shown on Sky Atlantic and Sky Witness. The schedules for Thursday and Friday nest week don't look radically different from Pick's.

Slim, not much new of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week.

On Wednesday at 8.20 am there's "Borderline" (1950) about 2 law enforcers (Fred MacMurray and Claire Trevor) sent to Mexico to infiltrate a gang of drug smugglers but neither is aware of the other's real identity. Raymond Burr also in the cast.

I recorded "Borderline" and started watching it last evening before giving up. Sort of a cross between a comedy film and a film noir. The result is a rather odd film.
Apparently Claire Trevor wanted to show that she could do comedies and her husband financed the making of the film. She, Fred MacMurray, the producer and the director agreed to defer their salaries in order to get the film produced.
Trevor and MacMurray made much better films than this.

Not recommending it then El?

Did they make their money back on it?

They probably did make money as I doubt that the production costs were much

I would rate the film a 3 out of 10. I've seen worse but it's not at the standard of say "Double Indemnity" (one of MacMurray's best films) or "Stagecoach" ( a western by John Ford and is John Wayne's first major success).

Touch of Evil was borderline brilliant.

Hi Velvet
I agree that it's a very good film

Slim, that's the Orson Welles film with him and Charlton Heston in which I mentioned some time ago. You thought that it would be too much for you,
As with "Borderline" it's set on the Mexican border and is about drug smuggling. It's a much better film but definitely not a comedy.
