Slim, little new of note on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week. Very early Tuesday morning (00.40) is "Cry of the City" (1948) Victor Mature and Richard Conte, It's a very tough film noir, good but I don't think you would like it.
Next Sunday ay 18.45 is "The Big Boodle"/(AKA "A Night in Havana" (1957) about a casino dealer who gets his hands on some counterfeit money which puts him in danger from both sides of the law. One of Errol Flynn's latter films when his career was in decline. Of minor interest is that it was directed by a Richard Wilson (not the well known actor) who was involved in the production of some of Orson Welles' films.

I've gone through the films on Sky El for today. It's quicker looking at the release date the amount of (cheap) repeats that are on

What happened to Film 4?  That used to be edgy - no more. They showed world cinema too. Sometimes I wonder what the licence fee is for. Repeat repeat repeat. The Culture Secretary should be in there telling - mainly terrestrial channels - to up their game. I can cook but have you seen the cuts they show - ÂĢ40 sides of salmon. It's totally unrelatable to most - aye you James Martin!     The seafood is always the best "here". Do one.

Film 4 still shows world cinema but generally late at night. There's an Italian film called "Happy as Lazarro" but that's very early in the morning (1.05 on Wednesday).
Though much of what they show during the daytime are films which have been shown lots of times such as "Mrs Doubtfre" early this evening.

It was a tad breezy here this morning but has been quite mild the rest of the day

I had been listening to the England/Ireland one day cricket match this afternoon. That was being played at the County Ground in Bristol Gloucestershire's main ground). England were doing well at 280 for 4 after 31 overs and were heading for a large total after their 50 overs.
Then there was a torrential downpour at 14.48. The downpour didn't last a long time but so much rain had fallen that the umpires decided that the game had to be abandoned at 15.21 even through the rain had stopped at around 15.00.

Cricket season is virtually over in this country though there's the cricket world cup starting in India on  October.

Soggy wet grass isn't good for play....those balls just don't bounce so well

Good morning everyone

Cloudy day here. Some rain forecast for later and expected to become windy with gusts in the low 40s thanks to Storm Agnes. There's a yellow warning in place for wind which includes my area but it doesn't look as if it will be as gusty as elsewhere.

I hope everyone has a good day

We have a yellow warning too ....tis a bit blowy, but nothing to write home about just yet

Take care El
