@slimfern a film you will almost certainly want to watch is on BBC Two next Sunday at 12.30 in the afternoon is the 1940 film "The Shop Around the Corner" A charming period romantic comedy with James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan.
Was remade as a musical "In the Good Old Summertime (1949) with Judy Garland. Also was used as the basis for "You've Got Mail" (1998).

Yes, that looks like a fun film....can't really go wrong with James Stewart
I haven't seen any of the three films you mention...

Thanks El

I noticed that there's a film called "Taggart" on television today. Nothing to do with the well known TV series. It's a minor western made in 1964. Of little interest other than it featured David Carradine in his film debut. His father John made more films than virtually any other American though mostly of little merit.

Grasshopper ....the man met a rather unfortunate end

You may...or may not be surprised to hear...I've never seen 'Taggart' apart from the odd preview clip shown.

Alec Norton could never replace Mark McManus

The McManus family adopted Brian Connolly, later of 1970s glam rock band The Sweet; both men perceived a resemblance between them, and supposed McManus's father to have also been Connolly's.[8]

Have a good one troops

There's been a murrder

There is a similarity

''There's been a murdur''  ..yep! have heard that saying, even if I haven't watched the show

El, how’s your team doing without your star striker. I have been keeping  up with the footie this season, so far

Goals for 0 - goals against 9 in the league
Goals for 1 - goals against 6 in the the EFL cup and EFL trophy
The one goal for was an own goal by the opposition.

Quote from the manager:
Cheltenham's forwards are "desperately short of confidence" says head coach Wade Elliott, after they failed to score for the seventh league game and are without a goal this season.

That’s not looking good is it El?

Hopefully things will start to pick up as the season progresses
