@El Loro posted:That's not surprising if you realise that St Edward;'s Crown weighs 2.23 kg. To have a weight like that on top of your head for some hours would be an ordeal for most people, and of course King Charles is 74 years old.
Although that crown has been the one worn at coronations since Charles II in 1661, a lighter one was worn for the coronations of Victoria and Edward VII (60 at the time) because of the weight,
wow!! love the history and historical context -thank you EL

On one weather site it's forecasting 41.7 mm of rain today of which 23.4 mm between 6 and 9 pm this evening. Would be the wettest day for some years if that happens.

Some sunshine here at present, showers probable.
10mm of rain here yesterday so somewhat lower than the 41.7mm forecast on one site.
I hope the flash floods in parts of the country yesterday haven't caused any of you problems
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning Buddies
It started off sunny here but has clouded over now. The forecast is for rain from midday
Enjoy your day everyone
The front grass is long. It brings the neighbourhood down.
I'm comfortable with that.
Today won't be the day.

Hi Moonie and Velvet
Grass is long here too
On the Environment Agency website which covers England there's a check for flooding where one can select either by place or postcode. Besides being able to check for warnings and river levels there's a rainfall option as well. That shows the amount of rain which has fallen in the last hour, 6 hours and 24 hours at various measuring stations in an area. The closest one for me is 2 miles from here so a bit further away then the one I mention from time to time which isn't an official measuring station.
I have seen your area is notable for flooding El

That article doesn't mention that on the Red List are boat building (traditional wooden boats) and canal art & barge painting:

Several of those crafts I've never even heard of El
It's a shame to see heritage skills lost, but I suppose people, unfortunately, have other priorities and time pressures to consider
