We had a trickle of rain first thing followed by cloud ...I think there was some sun, but unfortunately I blinked and missed it

4 mm of rain so far today. Not a lot but those were from 2 downpours. Neither lasted more than a couple of minutes. So anyone caught in one of those would have definitely noticed

Did I fancy Claudia Cardinale? That's a deffo yes....

A Youtube clip which includes Edda Del'Orso singing C'ere una volta il West with a piano accompaniment:
She's the singer in the film and this clip is a rare live performance:

After she's sung, the man who introduced her at the beginning passes his microphone over to a man at the back by a lamp and he then talks. All the talking is in Italian but I think that man with glasses is Ennio Morricone.

Slim, only film of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week is on Tuesday at 11.35 in the morning - "I Remember Mama" (1948). A young writer recalls her ups and downs of growing up as one of four children to Norwegian immigrant parents in 1910s San Francisco. Good quality film directed by George Stevens. "Mama" is played by Irene Dunne who was trained to use a Norwegian accent and became so immersed in the character that she was using that accent at home with her family. The daughter is played by Barbara Bel Geddes, best known for the "Dallas" tv series years later.

Dare I say, she looks much more comfortable wearing her crown

That's not surprising if you realise that St Edward;'s Crown weighs 2.23 kg. To have a weight like that on top of your head for some hours would be an ordeal for most people, and of course King Charles is 74 years old.
Although that crown has been the one worn at coronations since Charles II in 1661, a lighter one was worn for the coronations of Victoria and Edward VII (60 at the time) because of the weight,
